Coming home from work yesterday with trailer in tow and hit a series of bumps in road which caused the front of my truck to go out of control. The last few months have noticed a much tamer version of this and then this happened and I thought the front axle was coming out!The tires are in good condition and shocks were replaced about 50K ago and all the front -end was rebuilt before I bought the truck last year but with all factory hardware. I've only been a member for a short time, but I've seen several threads relating to a trouble spot with Trac-bars. Is this what I have or should I go with new shocks first. Thanks!!

if you look up death wobble there are a bunch of things that can cause it anywhere from shoxcks to steering dampner, track bar and alignment settings. the first time for me it was the shocks, second time the dampner and just this weekend the track bar. basically you gotta go thru your whole front end and see what is worn out if nothing get the alignment checked

Thanks for all the replies/I did exactly what the other threads said to do and found that i need a new trac-bar. I ordered the DSS and 3rd gen. adj. bar and assoc. bracketry. Ordered new D25's and stage II control arms and will get it lined up after installing.

I have never owned a truck with so much power... and so many vehicle specific issues.

SRath-

The main reason why I dont bring my truck to a tire shop with banners reading computerized alignment. The unskilled workers that many (not all) of these places employ (at least in my area) only know how to read the screen. I once got my truck back with the steering wheel crooked after being told but its in spec. They then suggested i take the steering wheel off and re center it... .....
