which fuel plate does a stock transmission handle in a 95 with a auto?going to have timming moved up to 15. 5 and was thinking about a plate at the same time, have access to a #8 now,is that to much?
My stock transmission started slipping with the install of my #8 plate, 97 model. Within about 6 months, with easy driving, it was TOAST. I'd suggest looking into, atleast, a t/c and v/b upgrade so it will take the extra power.
I have used nothing but a #10 plate and moved it back anywhere from 45-60k toward firewall. Both the stock clutches and automatics have lived a long time doing it this way.
My stock clutch handled all the mods I did (did all at once) for about a week. Then I had to push the plate back 1/2 way so I wouldnt slip. Now its boring !
If you have not done anything to the transmission or exhaust upgrades you need to run the #6 plate. It will up the power from 160 hp to 230 and torque from 400 to 605
