Does anyone have a pic of which way the top of the sending unit in the fuel tank should be placed when installed? My son had swapped out mine for me cuz old one went bad. Not sure if he faced new one in right direction because it stopped working. Maybe float is hanging up, not sure. Wire connection is good. Thanks for any input on this guys........Mike

I don't have a picture, but it is common to orient the canister improperly where the float hits the side of the tank.

I assume that your line fittings and electrical all face the left side. Mine does. So my float goes directly to the rear. When installing my sending unit I made sure that it was not interfering with the tank in any way. The tank is rough inside and that is what causes the float to erode a way. So orientation is important.
So you might hammer on the tank if is stuck, with a low fuel level, or loosen the ring on top of the tank, and see if that helps to get a fuel level reading. This might involve lowering the tank some. Just a few suggestions.
Last time I had mine out, I covered my float with Epoxy to stop the eroding of the float material. No problem since.

I am thinking there were marks to line up on the unit and the tank. However wouldn't be first time I was wrong

Wish I had seen this before, sorry. I do have a picture, but I'm certain you've already figured it out by now. For reference though, the thing pretty much gets clocked by turning the fuel lines towards the frame, just like it comes out. I will see if I can post a power
point I did at the time, it could help someone in the future.
