Which fuel pump?

Give it a day or two- they are still working bugs out of it- and there are just bugs you gotta live with. It is a small site run by an individual, I think. Good info, though.

The basic drawback to the 14mm head at the 450hp+ level is fuel supply pressure AND volume. More correctly, the pressure caused by getting proper volume to it through the small supply lines. I think there is a special seal retainer to allow the VE to receive 25-30psi inlet pressure. Otherwise, you have good lower power (say, 250) and step on it, and you starve the pump for fuel, leading to lockup of the pump, and quick shut down of your engine in one fashion or another.

14mm heads are only recommended for those with deep pockets who want to go to the extreme in the VE HP race.

I don't know about the deep pockets thing, I know I sure don't have em. Only one member on here with that I know of with deep pockets:-laf.

On the fuel pressure thing, I've been running 12psi at idle, then at max boost of 60psi, my VE sees up to 50psi of fuel pressure. So far so good. I'm guessing when the VE is being worked and needs the fuel, the big pressure isn't popping out the front seal.

You've put more into your 89 than I have in my 91 and 92 ;). You have deeper pockets than mine, at least for now.

EDIT- Make that just the ones interested in breaking 5-600hp. Though I think 700 is the next hurdle.
