Very sad to say, but due to corrosion from road salt 5-6 months of the year where I live, I don't like doing repairs like this anymore. And to think it's my hobby! I recently spent two weekends trying to replace balljoints and tierods on a chevy. A simple job with the right tools (which I own) but miserable due to severe corrosion. I understand why people are being charged what they are at dealerships and independent shops whith what the mechanic has to put up with. A friend of mine was charged $2200 for balljoints, spindles, and hubs when the shop could not separate any of it. They finally just cut the balljoints from the axle and replaced everything outward including calipers. Road salt used in gross excess such as where I live is a crime in every sense of the word to the environment, roads, bridges, and our expensive vehicles. Tony
