Ok I'm wanting a good book/manual that will help me understand this beast under my hood better. Seeing how I'm still diesel dumb.

You can get an engine parts manual from your nearest Cummins dealer. I dunno the cost, but if you provide the CPL number, Cummins can put together a personalized parts manual, with your name on the cover. The ultimate coffee table reference.
