Good idea for campers

Alot of you may have figgured this out already, but I just discovered it for myself. A few days ago I was taking my 30# propane cylinders to be filled, and I've always had a hard time securing them in the back of the truck. As I was looking for something to tie them down with I noticed an empty milk crate and thought ..... that's just about the right size..... Well, I tried it. A 30# cylinder fit in the crate like that is what it was made for and provided a very stable base. They rode down to the hdw store and back just fine, no rocking or bobbling. Sure made loading and hauling those round suckers a heck of a lot easier.

Every Time we take ours down the mountain, we have the same problem... how to keep them from rolling over the dogs ***smile***. That is a great idea and we have spare cartons that can be used for just that purpose. A Great Idea!

I've been using a milk crate for years too.

Also, I have a piece of 2x12 cut to fit the slots in sides of the bed, which keeps propane & gas cans from sliding from front to back. You can also use a rubber bungee to secure the milk crate to the factory tie-downs right there at the back of the bed.

I just chain mine to the hitch ball and drag them down the road like the "just married" crowd does with the tin cans... thdy make the neatest sound

I bet it sounds even better with a couple of em dragging behind. Those railroad tracks gotta be the highlight of the trip though.
