Goodyear tire blow out.

I have a 1996 Travel Ez 5er with Goodyear tires.



On our last trip I had a blow out and it did quite a bit of damage.



I heard/read/saw something about a recall or something on the Goodyear trailer tires.



Can anyone shed any light on this?

Goodyear repaired my RV and replaced the tires. This was two years ago and the recall was in effect at that time. Contact Goodyear claims dept. If you need a phone number, send me an E mail.

Look at the side of your tires. Where it says 2 steel belts etc. If that IS NOT followed by + 2 Nylon, you have the old style tire that is covered by the "silent recall". Hope this helps. They changed to the + 2 nylon sometime after 1996 to help prevent tread loss.

They will pay for any damage to trailer. Don't go to a dealer, they will just jack you around, call 1-800-322-4682. They will give you a claim number and send you to the dealer. I had the 235/75-15"s and blew three of them before I found out about the defects, I went to the 235/75-16"Wrangler HT and blew one of them. I am now running Cooper tire. I have two brand new 15" marathons and five 16" in my garage. bg
