Do i have to remove my tripple disk suncoast and send it back to get the stall turned down/up ??????????????

Turbo Tweaker had his Goerend Brothers loosened up, but not for this reason.

To my knowlege his never died when he dropped it in gear, and his/mine drop in very aggressively. Mine stalls at 1250 as did his. He had his bumped up because he was pretty sure he was going with twins, then didn't.

As pointed out earlier, this one SHOULD fix the problem - but apparently doesn't for most who have tried it - I wonder what would happen if a larger amount of a decent fuel additive as used to comphensate for the #1 diesel commonly used in cold climate country?

TSB 18-014-01

All Performance enhancement for severe cold weather environments.

This bulletin applies to all Ram trucks equipped with a 5. 9L 24-valve Cummins diesel engine with a 49-state emissions calibration and an automatic transmission. The bulletin describes how to selectively erase and reprogram the Powertrain Control Model (PCM) with new software (59t7a). The problem addressed by the PCM reprogram is a hard starting and/or idle speed fluctuations condtion.

Cummins 24-vavle engines used with automatic transmissions can be severely affected by the use of sub-grade #1 diesel fuel when ambient temperatures are below 0°C (32°F), typically prevalent during the Winter months in Alaska, Northwestern Canada, and similar climates/temperatures elsewhere.

This change will have no effect on performance during warm weather or when standard grade diesel fuels #1 or #2 are used.

Vehicles with 49-state certification can apply this calibration if needed. The calibration can be changed back to the original calibration if desired.

So I need MORE ? Stall to prevent the Violent Drop in RPMs when going into gear ???

Why is it worst sometimes than others /

DM

I honestly dont' think changing your stall speed is going to make a difference.

Josh

it sounds to me like the transmission is doing just fine. It seems to be an engine issue to me. For whatever reason the sudden drop in RPM can't/isn't caught by the ECM.

If I was going to just throw a part at something like this... . I'd try a crankshaft position sensor. Maybe the one you have is "lazy" or slow to respond. If that is the case the ECM can't add fuel to compensate for the sudden load on the engine.

But even that's grasping straws in the dark.

Josh

That's what I'd try!

Duluth Diesel has an 02 HO, and just letting the clutch out the engine will compensate! It's THAT sensitive... .

Josh

ECM was all ready at the latest software program ect... .

Im just flat out hosed

Called suncoast they want to change my converter from 1900 RPM stall 91% 443D to +300-400 RPM 193D

And wont garentee that it will fix it

WTF

I cant belevae out of 50,000 people that Im the only one thats ever had this problem ????

DM

I hate to say it DM, but I'd be willing to bet, down the road your going to have a sensor failure... and once you replace it... . you will no longer have the problem!

Good luck with Suncoast.
