2007 Ram 3500. My Problem: I have to make a 120 mi R/T in a few hours. Now this issue started a few days ago and I couldn't get to it to replace the Heater Motor resistor. The blower works but on High only. Any guesses on how long this will work on High speed only? Will using this have any effect on the blower as in shorting it out or cause any other issues. I do have a 2003 Durango that I had the same issue on but after 2 new resistors I replaced the blower & it has been fine since then. I could take the Durango but it is not a 4X4 like the Ram i& we have had a lot of snow and the side roads are the worst, Freeway DOT cameras show Interstate 5 & I 405 looking pretty good. It is still pretty cold and I don't want to get stuck with no heat in the cab. Since this has a 120V outlet could you plug a small 750Watt Heater into the outlet to get heat while down the freeway if the truck heater should quit, just a thought.

It shouldn’t take but a few minutes to replace.

Is this a factory 120 volt outlet? Or, is it an inverter. If it is factory, the heater would draw about 6.25 amps. If it is an inverter, the heater will draw about 62 amps on the 12 volt side. You should check what you have and what is rated for.

What I have discovered after dealing with and selling blower motors and resistors over three decades is....

"Replace both at the same time if feasible, blower motors will take the lower stages of the resistor out first as the motors draw more and more amperage before finally singing their death song..."

Just what I have seen over and over and over again...

FWIW, I remember similar experience with my '04. I tried another resistor block to experience the same symptoms. Unrelated I decided to change batteries and in that process I crimped new lugs including the smaller one that goes to the IPM. The blower worked at all speeds again. So I assumed voltage drop due to corroded or inadequate contact of this lug. I wrote about it another forum: https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/forums/3rd-generation-ram-non-drivetrain-all-years-101/blower-motor-resistor-block-[photo]-314986/

I would agree on replacing both resistor and Motor. I Have a Durango that I didn't change both and about 3 months later I was back at step 1. Any opinions on ordering the parts from Amazon? The resistors are about $15 & up and the blowers run $25 tp $55.
