Basics are the truck was running fine this morning. I drove it. Switched vehicles with wife and she called telling me the following:
"There was a godawful smell and a puff of smoke from under the hood. " I asked her if there were any sounds or if it was driving different. She said no. And yes the truck still smells bad; a smell that I really can't place?
For reference, I have a bad ignition switch where you have to roll it back as soon as it catches.
Even after the numerous times telling her this, she drove it with the starter engaged for about a mile this morning after the switch out #@$%!. The starter is obviously too hot to touch, but it still turns over fine. But now it won't start.
Did she toast a solenoid or relay that is in circuit with the starter? Is that why it won't start?
HELP!!!
