Installed HID low beam headlights . Made by DIODE DESIGN on line . It was an easy job all plug and play , the hardest thing was where to put the ballast and the three other little black boxes. They have different outputs I choose the 5000 which is like factory hid . A nice clean white. They work great ! Quick warm up no flicker. 3 year guarntee. No instruction manual but a good you tube instruction on line that shows plug in very effectively. Also there are some good you tube for head light removal. The best way I have found is to remove the grill to get to the lower 10 millimeter bolt. Grill removal is easy. just pop the rubber cover off and remove the 4 bolts at the top and it will pop off .:-laf

Good to hear you like them. I've been dragging my feet doing a HID upgrade on my '15 due to horror stories I've heard. The factory lights, even the projector lights are a joke for a $75k truck. It's the only part of my truck that I'm disappointed in (other than not having a factory long bed with a mega cab).

I have the Diode Dynamics HID kit in my truck. I have the projector style headlights. I was so impressed with how well the lights worked, I installed HID high beams as well. I think there is a marked improvement in the lighting and are really happy with them. Customer service is excellent, I had an issue with one light being off color, I have 6000K lights, they immediately sent me new ones(2), so now I have a spare. I wish Ram had them as factory on the truck. The install was easy, the website provides instructional videos, as well as You Tube. I also have added backup LEDs from them also, and are happy with them as well. The products are backed up by a 3 year warranty, can't beat that.

The Headlights r AWFUL...same with the High Beams....pathetic for any vehicle, I went with the Rigid SR series....Love them

Perhaps you could be a little more clear. Why awful?
For those who have the projectors and swapped over to HID, have you had any issues with blinding oncoming traffic/ oncoming flashing of lights?

Hello Doubleclutch....I think they are absolutely the worst lights I have ever had on any truck I have owned....

The low beam safely projects around 20 feet in front of the truck...the high beam perhaps 50....I have driven with the high beams on and NEVER had anyone flash me as to their brightness...the beam projection and usefulness is IMO unsafe for driving anywhere beyond well lit suburbia....I drive on country backroads, I had to install a light bar for safety....

Every other aspect of the truck I like, appointments, motor, trans, reliability etc....the only aspect (and it is a safety issue) is the beam strength on my 2012, whoever engineered the light system should have their degree revoked...

It sounds like we're all in agreement that the stock lights are woefully inadequate for any road without street lights. I guess my more direct question is: Did you change out the stock lights with HID and were you still unhappy with the light pattern? The HID should provide MANY more lumens, with a whiter light. On paper it sounds like the way to go, but sometimes the paper has holes in it... <G>

I actually changes the bulbs 3 times...All three brands had higher lumen specs, none were worth the price for the impact...none eliminated the need for a light bar....In contrast my wives Rover's are like the sun straight out of the factory....Also from my chair, the bulb change access was ridiculously complicated for a simple bulb change

The only real area of concern/disappointment I've had with my 15, is the headlights. My first CTD was an 02, I had flashlights that worked better then the factory headlights. I did the Sport upgrade and that was a huge improvement. I would have thought the headlight issue would have been solved by now.

From what I have found, it seems the best option is the addition of aftermarket lights, either an LED light bar or replacing the factory fogs with LED driving lights.

Am I missing something? Is there an improvement available that is dramatically different?

Light bars are not legal for driving on public roads. They blind the on coming traffic and are meant for off road use only. Get a HID kit they are cheaper then a light bar and are a definite improvement over stock. Speaking from experience after installing mine it was ( pardon the pun) like day and nite.

For anyone who says the 4th gen headlights are awful, I'm guessing they never had a 2nd gen with the faceted lens headlights! THOSE were horrible until I did the sport headlights upgrade!

Hid retrofits are also illegal........

I have also had the pleasure.or displeasure of having to repair, housings and wiring after hid conversions have been done.Just saying becareful when doing any mods on these late model computer controlled trucks.

I just pushed the center of the head light knob shortly after purchasing the 2015 which turns on and leaves on the fog lights. No head light issues. Without the fog lights there is a horizonal cutoff line in the low light beams that is really bad. SNOKING

If one's truck has the projector style headlight, HID is the way to go. The projector lens focuses the light pattern, so it does not blind oncoming traffic. I have Rigid Industry SAE fog light pods in place of factory setup, and have found they work very well for my needs. When travelling upstate NY, where there are no streetlights, I use one of my light bars, one in the lower bumper opening, and one on my headache rack, to illuminate the roadway, since oncoming traffic really insn't an issue there. Yes the lights are not the best on open rural roads.

My 2015 doesn't agree with the Diode Dynamics HID lights around 20% of the time so I removed them. When they worked they were fantastic, but when they both shut off simultaneously while driving, not so much.

I'm going with lights from The Retrofit Shop that incorporate a resistor bank to fool the computer into thinking that the halogens are in place. I'm hoping this will solve the issue. These lights in the projector housings have a clear and distinct cut-off that I adjust to keep the road lit up appropriately in front of the truck at 60mph. I haven't ever had another driver flash me their high beams with this setup.

The LED's in the fog lamps are another story though...:-laf
