I am not jumping to judgement Tomeygun - I have looked at a lot of side step mounting systems recently (the usual investigation prior to purchase) and they mostly consist of 2-3 plates mounted to the bodymounts and/or body. Four tubular supports have the capacity to be much stiffer (especially when you consider the supports and main tube are all one welded assembly). It depends on the mounting at the frame - Jungledave mentioned some of the plates going up and over the frame, and the rear support in the picture appears to go to both sides of the spring perch. There is a lot of promise here, but I will still need to see it in person or see something official from Mopar that says they will hold the weight of the truck (even a Hemi). At that point it would be a must buy - talk about side impact protection!

True, at least in a t-bone accident, they would certainly help

I bet the install is quite lengthy

I am pretty sure if you ever see them that you will be convinced that they will hold the truck!! There may be five mounts instead of for and I am pretty sure thay can be spaced out with some work. I went to look again and the truck has been sold.

did anyone end up installing these rock rails?

I just got a love tap on the rear quarter panel (and whoever did it left no note, etc, etc). So Iam thinking these rails will protect against the same idiot backing there minvan out and into my lower door area

I would like to revive this thread to see if anyone has completed the installation of these rock sliders on their truck yet. Updates, pics ,whatever you have available to add to this subject would be greatly appreciated.
