02 with 27K Only trouble I have had is with a cold weather miss when temp is colder then 40 deg out

no one has been able to fix it and blam is pushed off on to performance parts. So far Marco's ecm has made the bigger improvment on my cold weather miss or surge. Only time will tell with winter comming on and how well it going to run this winter when temps drop.

Guess it time to update this thread, as it started in August of 2001. My last entry was August 7th 2001.

The truck now has 133,000 on it. Replaced the map sensor, Crankshaft Position Sensor, both around 95,000, the lift pump (once, amazing at 98,000)

Front shocks, Universal Joints, Right lower ball joint getting ready for vacation, A/C compressor and evaporator, front brakes and rotors.

VP44 doing OK so far, engine still stock with exhaust brake. Third gear syncro

is worse than it was 3 years ago.

Looking down the road, I expect to replace the LP, VP44, Brakes again front and rear, ball joints and need my doors fixed. They are rusting out at the bottom bad, worse on the drivers side. Still waiting on the high potentate of rust problems from DC to approved or disapprove the repair, beyone 100K. Told them it was rusting because they had not used any primer on the inside of the door. They are still thinking. If I have to replace them, I'll cut the old ones open and photo them.

My daily driven '00 has 95,900 miles on it now. I bought it new and only had to replace:

Passenger front hub assembly, bearing seal was bad and got water in it (my fault for running in 3' of water) $238

Lift pump @ 68K Warranty

Front U-joint $20

Thats it, besides routine maintenance with oil, transmission fluid, brakes, etc. that is all I ever done to it. Never even changed out a light bulb on it yet. Never had anything out of the ordinary.

99,768 miles as of 11/10/2004 on my 98. 5

1 trackbar @ 32K then rebuilt that one with a Luke's Link @ 68K

1 lift pump @ 48K

1 APPS @ 96K

90,000 on my 2002 and the only thing I've had replaced was the injection pump at 70,000 miles. I work this truck very hard and it never leaves the driveway without my 40' flatbed tailer (8000# empty). I have gone for days without turning it off.

bought it with 105000 in may 2004 and now I have 135000... only had to replace the APPS so far but my dealer gave it to me for 375. 00 with tax

73K+

Rear axle seals resulted in a rear brake job.

Lift pump prior to us buying the rig at 8K

Currently have an unresolved transmission problem

I have 72000 miles on my 3500 4 X 4. Not a single engine problem, knock on wood. I change the fuel filter every 15k and use LE oil. Pull a Newmar Kountry Star Fifth Wheel, 13500 when loaded. A great pulling truck! Love it just the same as the day I bought it.

104,500

1 liftpump,

1 headlight

and the list will grow!

bought the truck with 93,200 so Im in the gray about any other service.

Update:

114,500 - original owner

1 liftpump

2 fuel sending units

1 thermostat

1 cracked exhaust manifold (replaced with an ATS 3-piece)

2 ECM reprograms

I guess I spoke too soon and jinxed myself.

1 oil pressure sending unit ( Cummins P/N 4088390 ) replaced @ 99,887 miles on 12/04/2004

2002 ETH 2500 Short Bed gauges, Jacobs Exhst Brake

VP44 replaced under warranty at 45K. Was running OK but throwing 0216 code.

Lift Pump replaced incidental to VP-44 pump replacement. Currently I run about 12 psi at idle and 7 WOT. Cruises at 8. 5 psi. 14 psi static pressure read with a starter bump.

Now using Standyne lubricity additive and performance additive every other tank.
