168,000 miles on an 01 3500 quad cab 4x4 w/6spd.

Bought it used with 101,000 in July of 05. She had just had the brakes done. All I have changed is the APPS sensor. Still ran, just couldn't use the cruise control due to losing throttle response when you took it off cruise. It still has the original clutch.

I have a 150 mile round trip commute everyday. 750 a week, 39,000 a year - on the low end. I did almost 50,000 last year. I average 18+ mpg now, 21. 5 when I had a flatter commute. I am moving down to The Vegas area, and have been doing a lot of towing of heavy trailers ,as I bring all of my machinery down here. No complaints here-I am never going back to a gas truck again.

What type of machinery? Give me a shout when you get down this way.

How many miles on your dodge 24V

I have 94000

37000 heater motor $300

49000 Injector pump Warranty

51000 Installed Fass

89000 Injector Pump

94000 miles sprung major oil leak have piston knocking

replaced breaks twice

replaced clutch once

replace front tie rods

if Warranty does not fix truck will replace the whole truck

now at 300,000 miles

still going strong !

lots of stuff fixed over the years.

lots of original parts still on the go, like the clutch !!!

It looks like it is coming from between the injector pump and the engine block. I shut the engine off and I can not see it. I turn the engine on and I can see a drip. I used a portable survalince cammera and still could not locate the exact location of leap. The day after Thanks Giving I took the Grand Kids Shopping and every thing was OK. The truck ran all day it was -25. Stopped to check mail and the truck started knocking. Oil pressure went from

45 pounds to near Zero. M y house was only 100 ft from mail box so I pulled it into drive way and shut it off. It took 9 quarts of oil. I pulled it into the garage and there was oil from 1 end of truck to the other. I messed around for 2 days and could not find the exact spot the leak was coming from. So I pulled the truck outside and let it sit for a month as I did not have time to mess with. Well Friday I drove it in to the dealer to see what they would give me on a trade in and to find out what was wrong. They offered $8496 for the truck. At this time I do not know if I will take the deal they offered as I have not had that good of luck with the Dodge. As far as that goes I have not had good luck with the Power Stoker Fords either. The Dodge dealer wants $33994 for 2500 with Auto. Chevy Dealer Wants $39000 for 06 DMAX.

$8500 ain't enoug

$8500 for an 02? I think I would start tearing it apart to see whats what! If you have the time, I would definately start tearing it down. $8500 isn't near enough! If you accept that deal I'm afraid you'll be getting the shaft on both trade in & new purchase... . JMHO... .

Good luck!

Clay

On edit... Happily turned 190k miles yesterday.
