Hey JKloppe,

Can you explain more on the wiring? Your picture shows the blue wires coming off of the resistors and plugging into the back of the aluminum plate--what are they plugging into? Also, are the resistors wired for both high and low? It appears that the resistors are grounded--am I looking at it correctly? I plan to do the harness separately for each side since we are blessed with 2 batteries. I am working on a Bi-xenon projector setup and would like your suggestions on wiring them up with resistors and diodes to keep the low beams activated when the highs are switched on to activate the solenoid. My truck is an 05--so no CAN-BUS. Wiring should be same as yours. Do you have any wiring diagrams you used? Thanks. .

Might be a good time to visit longevity as well. Now that they have been in the truck for ~5 months Not knowing much about HID's, what is their lifespan? What happens when they go out, is there a bulb, ballast, filament? Just curious.

Rholcom2,

As we wait for JKloppe's response. To answer your questions: Typically the bulb life of HID quality phillips bulbs are 1500-3000 hours. However, bulb intensity does decrease slightly throughout the lifespan. Good phillips bulbs are only 50-75 dollars a pair, so many replace when the change is noticable. There is no filament inside the HID bulbs, there is an electrical arc that causes the light emmision. This high electrical current for the arc is driven by the ballasts.

Good luck.
