Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) how to identify the size of an exhaust housing

i just bought a used exhaust housing and wanted to know how to identify whether it was a 14cm or 12cm. the gut said it was a 14cm but i want to be certain

which direction is the wastegate positioned? front to back or sideways?

if you mean the rod that pushes it open and closed. it would be sideways

what number is cast into the inlet of the housing?

on the inlet it has 17F8 on the exit it has 3529874 and underneath that it has 164 14

look on the INSIDE of the inlet... best way to know for sure

Look on the inlet, where the exhaust gas enters the turbine, but it looks like it's a 14
