Off Roading Rock Crawling in modified Jeeps

Competition Anybody remember Thunder in Muncie IRP 2005

I recently purchase an 2007. 5 3500 dully 4x4. It seems that the front hubs don't properly unlock as they should, my guess is that the previous owner didn't use the 4 wheel drive much and the hubs are a little rusted. the truck has 125,500 miles on it, which is considerably less than my 2005 that I have used the 4 wheel in a lot and have no problems with once so ever.

So to the point, I have never had the hubs off of one of these, having automatic locking hubs and so my question is, is there a good manual out there that I could buy to help me with this? Also, any recommendations for a good shop in Portland, OR for an issue like this one?

Thanks.

Tom

Unless the previous owner put a Hub Kit on the 07. 5 they don't have auto or manual hubs or even a Central Disconnet. The only disconnect is in the Transfer Case. The front axle turns (works) all the time.

Can you rephrase the question, unless there is a free spin kit. I don't understand the question. Are the unit bearings bad? The front axles and drive shaft will always be spinning unless there is an after market locking/unlocking hub conversion. If there are locking hubs they are pretty easy to pull apart and clean. My Dynalocks like to be bumped in reverse to get them unlocked.

Your truck does not have auto locking hubs, they are always connected to the axle. So the front drive shaft will alway spin.
