the reason i asked is, on annother topic on here some one said orignal simple green will attack the aluminim radiator,, ive never heard of the grease lightning,,,

it will attack it. thats why i watered it down a little and did not let it set but for a few moments. they do make something that foams up but i am not sure what its called.

i have a can of home A/C condensor cleaner in a spray can, it says good for auto radiators,, im sure one car isnt enough, and ill have to check to see if its aluminum friendly,,,,,

i would say it is ok but do check. big thing is get all the grease oil bugs and road grime out. you will be able to tell when its all out trust me. i kept cleaning until the water that i was washing it with was clear on the other side. when i first started it looked like the gulf oil slick. lol

[WELL I HAVE A GALLON OF SIMPLE GREEN AUTOMOTIVE DEGREASER,,,I CALLED SIMPLE GREEN,,THEY SAID IT WILL NOT ATTACK AN ALUMINUM RADIATOR IF ITS MIXED SCRUBBED AND RINSED OFF,, ONLY IF ITS SUBMERGED FOR 24 HOURS OR MORE,, SO I BOUGHT SOME STANDARD AUTO DEGREASER,,AND ILL USE THE SIMPLE GREEN,,THEN RINSE RINSE RINSE ,,,,,,,ALL I NEED IS A BRUSH NOW AND A FEW DAYS TO GET R DONE/COLOR]

i didnt use a brush, i think you will end up packing the dirt in the fins or messing them up. they are too soft to scrub.

spray rince and repeat till its clean. treat that thing like your great great great grandmother. or an old car that the paint is about to fall off of.

Another option instead of Simple Green pro-series automotive cleaner is Simple Green's new Pro HD heavy duty cleaner, which can be found at Home Depot with all the cleaning products. It comes in a gallon jug and if you goto Simiple Green's website you can print a coupon for I think $2 off any Simple Green product.

I used the Simple Green pro-series automotive cleaner for years and never a problem with aluminum. I talked to Simple Green about the new Pro HD and they said the Pro HD formulation was different than the automotive cleaner but safe for aluminum. They said basically it was a newer and better product. So I tried it at their recommendation. The Pro HD does not foam like the automotive cleaner and it seems to cut oil and grease better. I have not tried it in my bench top parts cleaner, but Simple Green said the Pro HD would be perfect for that application.

hey thanks for the tip on the new simple green,, ill look for it when i go to get the rest of what i need on tuesday thanks again
