2024 May Madness

December 07, 1941 - Never to be forgotten

I know the current mind set for the greenies and the woke is to re-write history, if they even pay attention to it. There has been several times the earth has been much warmer than it is now, much colder than now, almost completely covered in ice, NO ICE, Carbon Dioxide MUCH higher than now, been lower than now. Everyone needs to do their part to keep the planet clean but all those who are spending their lives worrying we are killing the planet need to climb off their high horse. Automobiles were not around the last time Co2 levels were TWICE as high as they are now. Stop driving period, stop using your computer, your cell phone and your electricity if people think its that bad and they can actually do something about it. You notice its the well to do hypocrites that incite these folks and terrify children who dont know any better while they are the biggest offenders? Control, they are doing great at it. Especially by degrading our education system to almost non existence.

And those times killed off a lot of plants, animals and who know what else. So if it gets so hot that we all die off, they we have solved the problem of man changing the climate on the planet, and evolution will have to start over again. An Win - Lose vs a Win - Win.

Somebody dropped the spool and the thread has unrecognizably unraveled...
But...but...who WAS GroundSquirrel before the most recent TDR reincarnation? o_O:)

Wow!!!!! Maybe I owe another poster an apology. I always thought it was either one or another poster who was always complaining and getting people banned.

If you’re implying that I have petitioned for members to be banned, I have never asked admin to ban anyone. I’m just tired of the crying and the need to post that they’re leaving. There’s no crying on TDR. He said he was leaving but continues to post and whine. Figured he could use some help since his willpower is weak.

I left well over a year ago and came back. Now I wished I hadn't came back :p......you're still here

Like buying how many? 4? 5? New vehicles and toys in the last few years? Plus how many campers....all that for 1 person seems pretty boojie to me. Carbon footprint is carbon footprint whether it's incurred during the manufacturing process or coming out the tail pipe. And your probably one of the bigger contributors in this forum over the last few years. Personally my thoughts are to go for it, you've worked your whole life and deserve to enjoy the fruits of your labor. But peering down your nose and belittling the next guy that very likely is contributing to a smaller carbon footprint than you just because it's being done in a different manner is a really bad look. That always seems to be lost on you.

I drive something like 10-15K a year. How many miles a year do you drive? All of my vehicles in 15 years of retirement have been low mileage use. When I wife of 40 years passed away in July, I was down to just the 2020 Ford Edge ST(which we bought when her 2004 Buick Rainier was totaled when she was T-boned in June of 2020) as I could not get her from her wheel chair to the seat in the 2015 RAM 3500. I decided that a guy does need a pickup, so I traded in on the 2021 F150. When you have walked in my shoes, then I will listen to you and your life story.

Still Can't see the forest for the trees? I never mentioned anything about miles driven. Go back and read my post again and focus on the point of carbon footprint of all those new toys and vehicles and campers you have. Those things are all made from fossil fuels and of materials that both cost and emit energy to produce and when you purchase these new toys you are a contributor no matter how you spin it. Compared to the guy you smeered above that is trying to keep his old truck on the road. One carbon footprint comes out the tail pipe, the other does also BUT the carbon footprint of manufacturing must also be considered. Thats not opinion. It's fact.

You should take your own advice. You have no idea what situation others are in. They may not be able to afford to buy all new things like you and are simply trying to make their stuff last. When you choose to judge others like you habitually do You open the door for scrutiny on yourself.

Just can’t quit? Maybe you need some help. Come on admin, give him what he wants so we don’t have to watch and listen to a grown man whine and cry. What’s that line? “It’s better to burn out, than to fade away...”

I don't want to waste my time, or his, with the boy who cried wolf and the "goodbye cruel forum" routine. It's easier when he comes back later and doesn't have to register again. That is assuming he musters up and actually leaves.

Welp, I don’t intend for this thread to go sideways but I appreciate the mods letting this debate go

This is JHawes originally. You can re-attach my name to my old threads if you'd like
