OK I guess I belong to the school of, If its not broke fix it until it is. I just installed a transgo TFOD kit in my 47re it shifts great but no overdrive. At about 45MPH I can feel it go into, what I think is, lock up but the RPMs stay pretty high around 2300 to 2500 @ 60MPH I just checked the fluid level and the electrical connector on the transmission. Both were good. What else could I have screwed up? Maybe the TV cable? I think it was one that I had to disconnect to take the valve body out. Everything was fine before I started this. Any additional thoughts? If some one has a link to a TV cable adjustment that would be very helpfull

If you're turning those R's you don't have OD or Lockup. (recent experience ) I bet it's electrical. Does it act like it's starting in 2nd or 3rd? If so, it's in limp mode. Maybe double check all the plugs, especially the one on the sender in the valvebody. I know it sucks having to pull the pan again, BTDT. (previous experience )

Thanks for the response. I called Transgo and they walked me through some tests. I dropped the valve body and checked the O. D. section, I missed putting a plug in, I think the Transgo instructions suck, I have it back in and waiting for filter and gasket to test it.

Yes they do! ;) I can say one thing though, they saved my bacon. When I split the VB a check ball rolled out. I wasn't sure where it came from. I had the FSM there as well as the Transgo instructions. I had it almost back together and the TG instructions said to check this ball. Hey! It was the one that rolled out. The FSM said nothing and showed same in regards to that 1 ball. Got lucky there! ;)

It may be high pressure. Did you put the risistor in the one line to the pcm to fool it on the pressure??????????

I will agree, they do have a good diagram of where the check balls go. I took it out for a test drive and all seems OK. I did find out how much easier it was to put in the first time than the second time.

Glad to hear it.

When I went to put my VB back in it wouldn't go. Darn park rod wouldn't go in the hole. I had the trans on a stand too. I think that was the problem, it made the rod go off a little. I had to go inside for an hour to cool off, and it still didn't go. I finally got it, after I broke something. Good thing the PO gave me the extra trans! :-laf

Hey Pete just for future reference you need to spin the trans out put a little to get the parking rod in or out. It will glide right in then.

Yeah, I tried that. I had done a few 727's, but that was over 15 years ago. I never had a problem before, that's why I was so miffed. I think it was because of the OD housing, I couldn't quite get a clear shot and couldn't see the pawl. I ended up using a mirror to get lined up, then it shot right in. I put in 3 bolts and gave up for the day. Beer:30. ;)
