Another Knockout picture! BIGNASTY,

Do you shoe your mules or run 'em barefoot? I was runnin' my Molly Mule barefoot. Was thinking about making up ice shoes, but had to sell her before I had the chance to try out the new "OFF ROAD TRACTION" . She was quite surefooted otherwise, but we started running into ice covered hills on our last hunt, together. GregH

We have them shoed its to far back that we go and if they were to split a hoof well I would hate to think of what we might have to do. My Bro-inlaw went to school and takes care of all of that . They have had animals all their life so its like putting on new tires on the car to them. Jacob one of our mules has a weird hoof and needs special shoe on that one its one of the reasons that I bought him. They were going to put him down because of it (some just deal with the problem that way ) but he and I have something in common I lost my left leg inches below the knee in Viet Nam and they put in a new knee and gave me an assortment of legs but said I would be limited in what I could do. I didnt buy that and either has Jacob he is my best packin mule he wont let anyone ride him but he loves to haul the heavy loads and wont quit he just does what ever you want. My Bro In law said he could break him to saddle but after getting pitched off so many times said hes as stubbern as Iam

Yep, I understand the corrective shoeing. Its GOOD that your BIL can do that type of shoeing as well as maintain the rest of the mules hoof requirements. Thats a HUGE job, in itself.

Sounds like you done everything to prove them Drs wrong!!! Thats the best motivator, when somebody says "you cant" :D! Thanks!

I was there too, but came home without a scratch, just hearing damage. No biggie.

Have a GREAT Week!GregH

BIGNASTY

Man, do I envy you!!!!!!!!!

My wife always tells me that if I'd lived 180 years ago, I would probably have been a mountain man. Or course, when it gets to be 40 below out there, Im ready to come back to the city. But, I could put up with a little cold to be where you are now.

I remember the days we would drive up to Colorado from Texas in the winter for a long weekend to get a fix of snow, then one time, right after getting back home, we got called out to a chemical truck wreck on Trout Creek Pass and damned near froze my a** off. Nope, like to visit but always ready to go back to warmer climes!! :D . :D
