The following is a very bad job of scanning, cuttng & pasting an invoice I got today from my dealer here in Pensacola, FL.

I sat down with him at his computer and went through the ordering process with him. As you can see by the n/c enteries there are no prices yet. He asked me to return July 10 to check again on ordering. He seemed confident that that would be the BIG day. I'll let you know on the 10th.

He also said something I didn't expect when I mentioned how the 2003s will look like the 2002 1500 we were standing next to. He said "Don't count on it. " and then told me of other model years when the production model was different from the previews. I think he was trying to get a rise out of me.

The other thing he confirmed for me was that Pensacola is an entry port for DC vehicles from Mexico. And local dealers will be the first to receive new trucks. I work down by the docks and saw 2002 vehicles come in. I'll keep my eyes open and let you know when I spot the 2003s coming in.

Sorry about the quality of the invoice, most of the dashes came out as ? it seems.

Thanks for the info. I stood next to a regular '02 Ram and a '02 Sport package Ram. The Sport package looks alot nicer. Just a different grill and fog lamps and maybe an air dam. .

A suggestion...

I don't know whether the model year you are looking for is posted yet but try www.kbb.com and seen what the wholesale prices the dealer is pay and they what he want to charge you. When I did this for my '96 and '98 the wholesale prices were to the penny.

I just checked today and you cannot order a 2003 2500 or 3500 truck yet. It will be in early August or September as far as that goes. They already have moved the date from mid-July.

HUH?

David, Luke S has ordered some from St. Louis and our dealership has ordered 5 so far... .

Some have build dates and delivery dates already.

Eric, I went into the order part of the DIAL system and tried to put in a fake order (as in just to get pricing) and the first screen that came up stated the vehicle was not able to be ordered yet. I was putting in a 3500 model. Aslo, we don't have any engine codes yet for the new Cummins. I cannot say that you can't put in an early order and wait to see what happens, there is no pricing and no code for the new engine. Maybe some areas have the green light to order. I talked to the Sales Rep that came in yesterday and asked when the new 2500 and 3500 trucks were going into production and he stated he didn't know. I checked with the business link rep and he said the date has been pushed back to August.

Time will tell is all I can agree on at this time.

My little local dealer has ordered about 9 for the dealership and at least one for a customer. Don't know if they have build dates or VON's but they have been ordered. I was just out there today.

I indeed do have 8 orders in the system. 2 are h. o. /six speeds, 3 are standard output with 5-speed's, one is an automatic, and I have 2 trucks ordered with the hemi for a total of 8. The 3 five speed orders have all ready been picked up and are on the "D status", which means the plant has the order and I have a VIN number for the trucks. According to the computer the trucks are tentitively scheduled for mid to late july, but I doubt we will see them built until august or so. Mopars1, the engine codes have not changed, the standard output Cummins is still ETC, and the h. o. Cummins is still ETH. Any more questions fella's

By the way guy's that is an interesting pic that HemiDart posted. Check out the wheel covers, they are the pre 2000 model style. All the pics Dodge has given us have a much different looking wheel cover on em:confused:Who knows what those crazy engineers do up there in Detroit. :D

Lucas, you're missing the forest for the trees here. The entire bed is a 2nd generation model. That pic is fairly old and if I remember correctly a 'rendering' of what it would probably look like with HD stuff underneath it.
