ROFLMMFAO!!!:-laf :-laf :-laf

Mom has a dozen horses and 50-odd cattle. I limit myself to the American Wild Turkey and Whitetail Deer for stock. Don't fence, feed, or fix 'em. Just shoot and eat!

And to return to the thread---she don't have no stinkin' horses and she paid me a visit today, and we're going out again. Darn my luck. :p;)

This reminds me... How the heck do you people SURVIVE over there?

The wife called yesterday from Greenbrier TN, she took her mother to a family reunion (I'm still trying to figure out why it's in TN... AFAIK, there's only one family member that lives there, the rest are somewhere else - many in the PNW) and she happened to mention the weather. 95 degrees and 90% humidity...

She did mention that it had cooled off on Sunday.

That kinda stuff would be near-fatal for me. It may get to 105 here, but when it does the humidity is 10-20%...

Shoot , want heat and humidity, come on down to Texas... . can't believe you other Texans are recommending Texas to that poor 'ole New England boy.....

if you come to Texas, you better be ready for the heat and the sweating. this years been cool compared to most, its only been in the high 90's thus far, but last year (hottest in recorded history), it got up to 116 at my house a few days and I live in the Central portion of the state, it was hotter in other areas... ... .

you couple these temps with 90% humidity, its down right H. O. T.....

I would love to go to the NW for a few years,,,,I would always come home to Texas, but it would be nice to experience cold, cool, chilly,,, you know all those "C" words... . :D

We do get some of the heat and humidity here in New England but I think that the humidity seemed worse when I was in TN a few weeks ago. I think that I could probably get used to it.

Power Wagon, where were you TEN years ago???

Here I am, ten years ago hadn't really ever ridden a horse, now I have 20 acres which I had to fence, barn I had to build, 4 horses, trailer, flat-bed trailer for hauling hay. I haul all the hay (because the bails are too heavy for her and she's allergic to alphalpha) no no, allergies don't stop her. 11 tons hauled so far, 8 more to go at $150/ton. I do most of the feeding and when we plan a day ride, it's me who gets up at 4:00 am to feed them and pack the trailer. When we do go on vacations, it's always really short because it's a real PITA to have someone else feed. And the whole road trip is spent looking out the window at other horses along the road. Don't get me wrong, I've grown to love the horses, but sometimes I wonder where I'd be w/o them.

I have to agree, if you're looking for the right girl, don't go after one who is a horse freak if you're not already one yourself.

Love ya honey!!

There's a reason I ride dirtbikes and got the wife interested in them... ... ... .

Have I missed anyone or are there more? Inquiring minds want to know???????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Can you name a female from another state Wayne? I can't! :p

Four day vacations? What's with that?

I could not enjoy myself if I did go, I would be worried about what was going on at home.

Hey though, it's not all bad. I am nearing 52 and weigh 170 and don't need no stinkin' health club. My wife does not spend all day at the mall and the hair dressers. I usually have more teeth than many of the people I deal with. I had my property reappraised last year after three years of ownership. (Well mine and the banks) Sure beats the return I have on my 401k the last year or so. Course', that will come in handy because most of the money goes for the four leggers. Being rural with few neighbors, I can whiz pretty near anywhere. When the mood strikes, I can go blast a groundhog or two and once in a while a coyote.

But the 100,000 Dollar question is Andrew,is CowgirlSky " Single " or should I say single with out a Boyfriend and if so (or not ) would it be worth moving to Iowa for????? Well maybe so if she own's a big ranch (paid for of course)with a few oil well's on it (would'nt hurt either) and her Daddy was a Doctor or a Lawyer and her Mom had a herd of pure breed register cattle and a few trophy winning quarter horse's. ---------Well maybe not------------

Come to Texas. There are plenty of single women who are looking for men who arent trying to be GQ coverboys. It seems a lot of good looking smart ones are into big, noisy, smelly trucks. Go figure. I have had more women come staight up to me and tell me how much they liked my truck, and wanted a ride lately, than when I had a Vette 10 years ago. I think they are tired of the sissy boys that our society is raising and want real men who dont give a darn what others say about them, or their big ugly hard driving trucks.

BTW. My ex-wife hated my truck. She also didnt like my Basset Hound, or my gun collection. She is available and she puts out on the first date if anyone is interested. So, use your truck as a dating meter, the more she likes it, the more of a keeper she is. Unless she just wants it to pull her horse around.

I've noticed the little Amish girls LOVE my truck! They wave to me as I go by the schoolhouse which they never did when I didn't have a diesel. A couple times I was behind their schoolbus and they'd stand there and smile and wave at me after getting off the bus as their brothers walked toward the house paying no attention to my truck.

If I weren't married already, I could have me an 18 year old bride that mowed an acre of lawn, while barefoot, with an unpowered reel-type mower !:D

I guess Texas would be a great place to live then. I don't think I have ever had a woman come up to me and comment about my CTD truck here in New England!:{ :{ I will definately place Texas on my list of places to visit.

Yeah, they all have horse & buggy as their personal ride, but will hire cars, vans, busses to haul a group of them.

The supermarkets where I live have hitching posts!
