Well I was on the list to receive the JIG but had a leaking front seal and decided to tab the thing and it was a darn good thing as the pin had creaped out a good 1/4" inch and I might not have been able to drill it anyway. I did the jub in my driveway by myself and I took about 6 hours. The hardest part is getting the fan off. I had a bit of a time getting the new seal in until I stuck it in the freezer for 30 minutes, then it dropped right in. Just ran it and no leaks yet. Sure feels good to know that I wont get stranded because of procrastinating about that.

I figure thatI got just in the nick of time as it was out about a quarter of an inch. It just made me nervous to know that it was creeping out.

Thanks

KDP Question?

Why, when you are inside of the front cover, can't you just extract that KDP and get rid of it? Fleming, this one is for you.

Besides it being near impossible to pull the pin out unless it's really loose they (there are two dowel pins) do serve the purpose of locating the case in place. The bolt holes have quite a bit of slop, if the case is free to move out of place your timing can change, main and injector pump seals and bearings can be damaged. There's quite a bit of weight hanging off the case, the injection, steering and vacuum pumps probably weigh close to 100 pounds all together.

KTP this week end

I got gaskets and a new seal, gonna check mine this weekend.

Have heard a rumor of loose pump bolts, from J Deabrock , so I got the timing case to block gasket as well... have you guys heard of any loose injection pump bolts on 97???
