Well I'm as confused now as I was when this all started(as I'm sure deepsix is also). We decided to open up the pump to look at the plungers/barrels. Everything looked as good as new,no wear on any parts visible. Used cleaner, oiled and reassembeled. Took truck out for a test drive(about 90 miles)and it ran like the day it was new. I don't know if the problem has been resolved or if it has been temporaroly fixed. I'll drive the snot out of her this weekend and report back. I did talk to a reputable diesel shop about 25 miles from here and they told me that they had worked on 3 trucks this winter already that had the same symptoms as mine and a pump rebuild solved the problems(and for only 2500 clams #ad
). I'll let everyone know what happens after the next couple of days.

Well, the weekend is over and I didn't get to put quite as many miles on the truck as I wanted to, but I did manage to sneak in about 350 miles since the pump was opened up. As of right now,the truck still runs as brand new. The only conclusion that I can come up with is that a plunger must have been hanging up on occasion, thus not responding the way it should and causing the rail to stick also, which gave it the stuck throttle pedal feel. I hope this solves the problem. Only time and miles will tell. Hate to think something as simple as cleaning, oiling and reinstalling the plungers could have solved this problem. I've got my fingers crossed, thanks to all for your input.
