For some reason I don't understand, DC builds 3/4 ton 4x4 trucks without limited slip as standard.

I bought my truck as a lot truck under a time crisis, and the only main thing it didn't have was limited slip. The dealer wants $1400 to install it.

I have been looking at the Auburn Gear limited slip. It costs around $400 plus install. Much more affordable. Has anyone used this? Is it good for street and light off road? Or is there a better unit out there

I can't speak for the Dodge / Dana application, but I had an Auburn gear added to a Suburban, and was very happy with the unit. I was lucky enough to have a good installer, so when I sold the vehicle 75,000 miles later it was still running fine and quiet. They have a very good reputation.
