92 4x4 Has around 200k a getrag,4:10's and an HX40.

The timing has been bumped also.

What kind of mileage etc can I expect.

I thought the HX40 was supposed to be a bit like overkill for everything else that's been done to the truck.

I have looked at it but haven't been able to drive it or hear it run.

It would only be used for tow duties.

Other than the intercooler side of it what would be different than my 89?

Would be nice to have back-up parts LOL

Thanks KO

My old 91 had 4. 10's in it and was wound tight @ 80 mph. But you can bet your behind, no matter what was hooked to it, there was NO problem towing at any speed either. Man, I miss my 4. 10's . :{

I figure the thing oughta pull a mountain if it gets traction.

I was thinkin' maybe the 4. 10's wouldn't have been as much strain on the Getrag, but my thinking may be wrong.

It would definitely take a decent load to make it lug in 5th.

Is there a frame cracking issue on some of the 1st gen models or is it just rust that I need to look for?

Look around the steering box area and the front spring perches.

The steering box is mounted to a steel mounting plate. This plate is known for cracking. If it has larger than stock tires it seems to make it happen faster.

Look the front spring perches over real close. They are know for cracking. The support that runs across under the raditor is riveted into the frame. It is known to have the rivets come loose.
