There is a low frequency whine coming from the engine that sounds like tire noise as speeds increases. The whine is RPM sensitive not speed; therefore I hear the whine when the transmission is in park. It starts around 1000 RPM and continues rising to higher frequency as the RPM increases. It is not loud but one can certainly hear it. Any ideas.

Start with the basics, check power steering fluid level, accessory belt condition and the pulleys. There are a couple idler pulleys with sealed bearings that can go bad and cause some noise.

Hope that helps as a starter.
Good luck
