Thanks for the reply GAmes. I,m thinking a new lift pump may be needed for fix. Going to do a little more checking before I put in new!!! jps

Well I put in new overflow valve, better pressure at idle, on the road, zero pressure. Thinking new lift pump now. Have a hard time spending the money for Fass or other electric brand. What is the opinion on here. Stock power is good enough for me. I would think the mechanical should work. TIA jps

Whats the pressure@ Idle? should be 20-22 range. now raise the rpm to 2000 sitting still. Whats the pressure now? should be 30ish.

You might check the in-tank pick up it might have some gunk in there. And you can now clean out the tank to be sure.

This is cheaper than throwing money at it and still not finding the problem.

You may be right,MLee. Guess I just dread lifting the box or dropping tank. I'm kinda an old duffer for all that work. Thanks for the reply by the way. Do you have a source for the studs for the lift pump reinstall? Can seem to find them. jps

MLee, pressure at about 15# AT IDLE. Going down the road it drops to 0. Rev up to 2500-3000 15# to 0. When we first start truck, pressure jumps to 25, then backs off quickly. Any ideas as to what may be going on?? jps

Checking vacuum on the fuel line would be the way to test for restriction in the tank. "t" in a vacuum gauge into the fuel supply line between the fuel pick-up and the lift pump you should see less than 6" of vacuum

Bob, Any suggestion as to where to tap in the line for vacuum check??? jps

I have a special tool that will t in at the quick disconnect. you could pick up an inline pressure fitting from genos then find the appropriate plumbing to tie in your vaccum gauge. Not quite as clean but to work on one truck it will function

That would be great, Bob. Talked to a guy at Geno's, he had know idea or know what I was talking about. Must have talked to the wrong guy!!! jps

Bob, I think I found the tee on Miller site. They call it a Millers Tools 6837 Adapter,1/2" tee. Does that sound about right. Is it more than just a plain 1/2 TEE? More to it than just a tee? TIA jps

It has hose on both ends of a t with a Schroeder fitting on it and female quick disconect(5/16) and male quick connect on the other hose
I'll look for a # tonight

Thanks Bob, see if I can find it. Found today we have a leak at the lift pump. At the primer plunger. Guess it's time for a new pump. jps

Sounds like air in the fuel lines. Mine has done that a few times. Is the 90 degree fuel hose at the strainer in good shape?

SSage, really can say about the hose. Guess all I can say is I had better check it out. If I remember correctly, that is a spendy little sucker. Unless some one has a cheaper source??? Does $ 28 ring a bell with anyone??? jps

Found the tool Bob. Should be in the mail. If new lift pump does the trick, will have tool for NEXT time!!! jps

The 90 degree hose is one time that a dealer has a bargain. $7 the last time I got one.
