Thanks for the reply GAmes. I,m thinking a new lift pump may be needed for fix. Going to do a little more checking before I put in new!!! jps

Well I put in new overflow valve, better pressure at idle, on the road, zero pressure. Thinking new lift pump now. Have a hard time spending the money for Fass or other electric brand. What is the opinion on here. Stock power is good enough for me. I would think the mechanical should work. TIA jps

Whats the pressure@ Idle? should be 20-22 range. now raise the rpm to 2000 sitting still. Whats the pressure now? should be 30ish.

You might check the in-tank pick up it might have some gunk in there. And you can now clean out the tank to be sure.

This is cheaper than throwing money at it and still not finding the problem.

MLee, pressure at about 15# AT IDLE. Going down the road it drops to 0. Rev up to 2500-3000 15# to 0. When we first start truck, pressure jumps to 25, then backs off quickly. Any ideas as to what may be going on?? jps

Checking vacuum on the fuel line would be the way to test for restriction in the tank. "t" in a vacuum gauge into the fuel supply line between the fuel pick-up and the lift pump you should see less than 6" of vacuum

I have a special tool that will t in at the quick disconnect. you could pick up an inline pressure fitting from genos then find the appropriate plumbing to tie in your vaccum gauge. Not quite as clean but to work on one truck it will function

Bob, I think I found the tee on Miller site. They call it a Millers Tools 6837 Adapter,1/2" tee. Does that sound about right. Is it more than just a plain 1/2 TEE? More to it than just a tee? TIA jps

It has hose on both ends of a t with a Schroeder fitting on it and female quick disconect(5/16) and male quick connect on the other hose

Sounds like air in the fuel lines. Mine has done that a few times. Is the 90 degree fuel hose at the strainer in good shape?

The 90 degree hose is one time that a dealer has a bargain. $7 the last time I got one.
