Competition Sled Pulling Future Discussion

Jim, Muncie is regarded as the fastest track in Indiana. IRP is a National Track and doesn't produce the times that Muncie does. They do prep the track, and usually we get there the day after the Nitro-wars. In Fuller's defense, it was above 90% humidity so I would take that dry Vegas air over our's any day.

Thanks Eric, all I'm looking for is a decent starting line, so far all of the runs I have made were done in 70-80% humidity, we have a good track here but the name follows it "Thunder Valley" it's in just that, and the air is always at 3000-4000 feet, the temps were good on those passes (in the 60's) but the air was thick!

Jim

P. S. Shame I can't run right after a big tire car;)

I beat the Duramax even though my transmission was pitchin fits. Clint did help me adjust it some though and it did run a little better. He was having a tough time off of the line tonight. It was all over the place, skipping and hopping, on take off. My best of the night was 13. 18 @ 104mph. My 3rd to OD shifts were about 3800rpms and yes I have a 24v :( . I need more fuel :{ . I think Clint best run of the night was 13. 26.

This video work?

Nathan Vs Clint

Taken with my lil digital camara... ... once its recording video I can't zoom so I couldn't focus on the times, but you can see the "win" light". I have more stuff it will jsut be a bit before I can pull it all off and figure out where/how to host that size of information.

44's??? wow. it did sound like the duramax did well, except for coming out of the hole. i heard it was all over the place. damn ifs.

jim

I think they are 44's. You are eye level with a truck driver when you go by. :D I heard, not confirmed, that it blew a hose and that was all.

Clints Duramax is quite a sight to see when it launches. I thought he had the IFS problem fixed. Maybe the track was to sticky.

Clint's truck isn't the only GM launching crooked....

FWIW: I saw a Duramax at Englishtown this past Saturday and he came out of the hole hard and a little crooked every time he launched. He was running somewhat consistant low 14's all day long.

Kat, do you remember what Maddog ran?

Dragstrip or Dyno?

He didn't drag race, hes breaking input shafts left and right, waiting for a billet piece to be made. The first dyno day he did 56x? (I think) after an injector change he made 686hp the next day. He then had to leave early becaue his daughter was got sick in Utah. His truck is truely unique.

The IFS 4x4's come out of the hole ugly. Imagine what that truck would look launch like if it was running low 13's.

Weren't they running 12's in Georgia last year?

Darn fancy electronic x-fer cases... .

Matt

I have no idea how they are doing the 4x4 in the Duramax.

Interesting side note.

I believe all of the ATS trucks were running drug free. I know the Duramax was. Was there anyone else faster on #2 only?

I heard there was a Subaru with a smoked clutch kicking some butt there as well. Whats the story behind that?

I don't remember what they were running last year. The big differnece this year is that they were running drug free.

Keith--was there or is there a big diff between DD's and SS's dyno that the #'s could be so far off that one could be discredited??? I don't recall HVAC saying anything more than what he achieved at SS's dyno last year--I was there also as I didn't get my truck together in time to get to DD--nobody lamblasted me on my #'s---of course HVAC wants to go last-his truck is always one of the top dogs if not the top dog at these events--keeps guys around wouldn't you say----and what diff does it matter if he dyno'd the day after and achieved a better #--like he's not going to post it---come on---I don't think he would say like I won the dyno event, but you can bet he'd be proud of the fact that his truck improved---he!! we all would----chris
