Re: ??? 5.5 MM size

I have never, ever heard of a 5. 5 mm. WTF uses that size??

4. 5 and 5. 5mm hex keys are used quite often for allan head screws and are usually the only non-whole number keys included in a set. Never seen those sizes used for regular bolt heads though.

Ever get a 14mm socket stuck on a standard bolt and sit there slamming it on the driveway to get the bolt loose?

You do this to Doc?Another thing we have in common:eek: Its starting to get scary.

You can count on Doc:-{} Whitmore to come up with something like this.

When I was doing the contract work for a local mechanic, the only tools we used on a regular basis was metric. Maybe once a week we would have to grab a standard for one *****y bolt/nut.

Cheaper to set your tools up with 1mm increments, than it is to find all the 1/64 or even 1/32 increments. 10mm, 14mm, and 17mm get used the most.

BTW, one of my MADE IN TAIWAN 1/4 drive socket sets has 4. 5mm, 5. 5mm, and 6. 5mm.
