Guages

After much searching and looking, I am going with Autometer Ultralite guages. I have a friend who runs a 4x4 Jeep shop who is giving me his cost on guages. I am going to order them next week. Have a good weekend everyone. Oo.

Paul, Wade thanks for the Birthday wishes, AOHELL never sent me a notification of reply to our Mid-Tenn Forum so I had no idea y'all posted that. Thank you both.

Lane, I loved my Auto Meter Ultra Lites, I think its a great choice. Hey did you know you left your busted case here? ;) :-laf

There was a article in yesterday's paper about emission testing trucks under 10,500 gvwr including diesel's for Nashville and all surrouding counties:mad: :mad: What will this mean for us? Will modified trucks pass?:confused: I know i will have to take the box off but what else?:{

I've been hearing that too Steve. Not sure exactly what it means. So far, there is no emission testing period in Cheatham county. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

We'll have to learn how to beat testing when they start testing. Shouldn't be too hard. Just another PIA and environmentalists barking up the wrong tree.

Industry pays the fine and keeps on polluting. Me or you fail the auto emissions--and we can't register an auto. I could rant a little.

You guys realize this is just another economical boost to counties like Trousdale, Robertson, Macon, Cannon, Bedford, etc. in registration revenues. My friend that works the clerks office in one county told me that his county does not have testing and they know people come from surrounding areas to register. His county has under 15k registered voters and over 75k registered vehicles and they do not care because of the money generated.

Now none of us would do anything like that with certain gas vehicles we have.

Talked to Jason (JHammock) today, he said he should have my crosspipe finished by tomorrow. Now all I need is some more 4" pipe (two 3-4 ft sections) a couple of clamps, a 3" to 4" adapter, and a set of stacks!

Should be stacked in a couple of weeks I hope!!Oo. Oo. Oo. Oo.

Tell Red it's time to pull the checkbook out again!! EEP 6spd with Dual Disk pulling clutch!!... ... I'm sure Nick can hook 'em up! ;) :-laf

We are sticking to the auto. We are gonna play the underdog... well, in some peoples eyes anyway.

I've heard that some people on hear w/ manuals and dual disk have gotten there PEE PEE spanked by some auto's. HEHEHE :D!

Sorry I just couldn't help it!

Nick, do you like the con fe in your tow truck? Is it a good choice for a daily driver or is it too grabby?

Hey Stephen unless you need it for the 500+HP rating get the OFE! I had the FE in my white truck right before I sold it, and while it wasn't *THAT* grabby if I had it to do over again I would go with the OFE. Oh yeah spring for the 13" too!

BTW dis-reguard that PM, ORW is giving me a full refund including freight!! :--) Oo.

I took the 12v to FL so I could go by Sun Coast Converters--Home of the Pro-Loc. I wanted them to drive and advise me on setup.

So Thursday morning I got over there around 8, told them the deal, and they said wait a few minutes and Joe will be here.

Joe is the big cheese there. He shows up and he spends the next two hours showing me around the place, driving my truck, talking fishing, boating, diesel drag-racing, etc. Way Cool !!!;)

They have a single, a triple, and are working on a FIVE clutch converter. The 5'er is for pullers--plain and simple. They've got laminated flex plates, better bands, dang near anything that breaks in an auto--they've got a bigger/better part to replace it with. He showed me the main problem with stock converters--it's not the stator, it's the stamped cover.

It's all manufactured/ remanned in house. I got to drool over the CNC 'chinery where each part is made. I was quite impressed.

I might just stick with the auto. I'll follow Joe's Rx: a little tigher (and triple) converter, a laminated flexplate, a billet input.

The converter I have is on the loose side because Nick was spooling a monster turbo with it. But back when I got it, I was so auto ignorant--and info on what was actually in the transmission was scarce--I didn't know to change it.

Summary: Sun Coast Converters--on Navy Street off Race Track Ave in Fort Walton Beach. Check 'em out for kick butt trannies.

Oh yeah, Joe has a boat with a PAIR of 370's in it. Oo.
