Dan

ouch that sucks a lot. sory to hear about it if i where you i would fix it. i don't know how well a 3rd gen cab would fit but maybe you can find a junk gasser version of your truck and replace it. not sure the year but anything 94 to 02 will work remember tho in 98 the changed the interiorer. hope that helps anyways

The '98-'02 3/4t- 1ton trucks have the same cab as yours.

Glad they found it, but sucks it was trashed. Hope they catch the turds that did it.

This sort of thing is why I have a couple of theft delay switches in my truck. Hopefully, it's enough of a PITA to start that it's not worth the trouble for idiots like those who trashed your truck.

Keys or not, someone took something that didn't belong to them, and trashed it.

If they don't cover it, I'd find another insurance company.

That's just yet another way for them to take your money and give you nothing in return

this is a myth thatif you leave the keys in it they can deny it. its no true if they say that get a lawyer you will be taken care of.

check and see if you have gap insurance. (if you have it financed) and you may want them to total it and buy it back. that is what i did with mine. I got it back for $4300 and had no body damage I see trucks like that go at auctions for 2-5,000 they will tell you what there best offer is on it and you have the right to buy it back from them. you can fix it a lot cheaper than having insurance take care of it.

my endresult the insurance company paid 18k for my truck the gap paid 5k and I got out of oweing 23k and got the truck for $4300 I have about 2k in it for repairs. pm me if you want any more info but a totaled truck may be what you want!!!

I am with Smokin. if you would have left it running in a shoping mall parking lot with the doors unlocked... yeah, then i could see them giving you a hard time about it... BUT, it was in YOUR driveway I dont think you SHOULD have a problem.

Now, with that said, if you owe money on it, as in 85-110% of its value, have them total it. Buy it back for the cheap amount they offer you, dont be a push over either, make sure they offer you a decient price. Look for a gasser that has a bad engine or transmission of the same year. I be you could find a rolling chassis for a pretty good deal. You part out the gasser for what you need, and sell the rest of the parts left over and it probably will pay for itself.

Now, if you dont want to tackle that beast, I would take the money, and run fast.

hopefully the sob broke his neck and the wolves drug him off to do buisness. i hate a xxxxin thief of this type,no respect for someones property that could very well have sinamental value. back in october someone stole my old gmc off lowes parking lot in broad daylight on a sunday,a month later some friends spotted it still in town, long story short we recovered it. i'am with joe on this one, remote kill switch could prevent this. so far i have put them on all my older trucks. sorry for your damages,i came out somewhat better. little bit of damage, and about 2k worth of stuff missing. . wish you hadnt posted this,i get ****** off all over again just thinking about it. .

I always heard that if the keys were in the switch they could deny but if laying any where in the truck as long as not IN the switch then it was covered. maybe BS but thats just what I was told.

The location of the keys shouldn't matter. Your bicycle doesn't have keys but if someone takes it, it's still stolen. I agree with Alphacowboy, try and get it totaled (if it isn't already) and if you want buy it back and part it out if you don't have the money to fix it. You could sell the interior, drivetrain, motor. (maybe unless it ran upside down) and use that money to bomb a new one. Still sucks though.

That really sucks! But at least we've learned something: Rolling this truck over appears quite survivable. I've always wondered what would happen to the cab of a 7200 pound truck in a rollover.

As far as fixing it, now would be the excuse to bring it to one of those conversion places to make it a a crew cab! Although that probably would cost many $$$$$.

I found used cabs and bed for cheap (IMO) on :

http://car-part.com

I would imagine that the thief might be easy to find, with a big, flattened forehead?!?

I hope that you can get a new truck soon and put all this trouble behind you.

Dan
