Just a thought here: If the new Aisin doesn't have TQ management or less TQ management than previous versions, it seems like it WILL have firmer shifts. Lots of TQ on the low end you might feel it.

I have new toy on mine, Edge CTS2 that shows gear it's in AND if its locked. It's interesting to see. Every now and then mine grabs second hard. I've not studied it enough to figure out if my right foot is the culprit. There's way more to it than just pressing the go pedal, as I've learned.

Anyway, keep letting us know, especially the feel of the trans and motor.

Cheers, Ron

I may have to try to figure out how to capture/post a video of this. The tach actually jumps like it is momentarily slipping the clutch pack, then it drops/hammers into low. I can live with, and expected harsh shifts, as I don't like "slushbox" automatics at all, but this is beyond that.

On a positive note, I put some more miles on yesterday, and can start to feel the engine is "loosening up" a bit. The thing runs so good it makes you smile.

How about a go pro pointed at the cluster?
Don't have one. I'd have to use my phone. Since it is at such slow speed, and on my driveway, it's not like it's hazardous. I just literally don't know the process. I'll do a little reading up.

Well, this is really poorly done, and since it doesn't give a view out the windshield it doesn't give much perspective of what's going on. My son was sitting on the console holding the phone. Hopefully you can see it is in second as I make the corner, ease down the downhill, then roll into it as the truck slows to a crawl in second on the uphill. When it hit he nearly rolled into the back seat:D I am not stabbing the throttle, just keep rolling into it until it finally initiates the shift, with the quick flare, then slam. Again, I'm sorry for the poor video quality.

Wow, that's a pretty big spike. BTW, I think you did pretty GREAT putting that together.

Hopefully it "learns" out of it. Good luck AND good job!

Cheers, Ron

While I don't know this for certain, I suspect TM is still applied at initial acceleration and during shifts. Also an assumption...when they said "no TM" or "full torque available in all gears" I took that to mean TM it is not applied in the lower gears at all times....as it used to be.

Too bad you couldn't show the gear display. It was in second the whole time? I understand you were decel down a grade, what was the flare? getting back into the throttle? I saw the speed decrease as it was flaring. Was it getting back into first? My ZF kinda does that but its not so abrupt.

I have an aftermarket TPMS that I use for my trailers, and, because the toy hauler is 41' and the axles are way on back there, they advise mounting a repeater to maintain good coms with the receiver in the cab. My '15 had the Aux Switches, and I located the "blunt cut wires" at the rear of the frame, and powered the repeater off the key hot wire, and activated the circuits with the jumper provided with the upfitter wiring. I have spent a fair bit of time rolling around on my creeper with a flashlight and mirror, looking for the blunt cut wires on the '19, with no luck. Finally, I emailed the Ram Bodybuilder/Upfitter group(always very helpful folks, by the way)and they replied that there was a screwup in the harnesses, only recently discovered, and those wires were left out. But all is not lost, as the circuits are wired and active to a point on the frame above the spare tire, so I have to lower the spare and splice from that point.

The gear indicator was on, but is hard/impossible to see. Yes, it will be in second as I slow roll down the lane and make that 90 onto my driveway. So, after that short decel, I roll into the uphill(which is much steeper)and the truck will lose speed, I roll into the throttle, and it will lug-lug-lug in second and finally when it decides to make the 2-1 the RPMs will spike, I can feel the slip, and then it slams into low. It's less pronounced if I just feed enough pedal to hold the truck from rolling back until it makes the shift, but that is not practical on public roads. That's what my buddy with the horse trailer runs into with his SRW, he gets on it to keep the truck moving, which makes it worse, and it is ridiculously bad. He told me at coffee today if he could get his old G56 truck back, and unwind the deal he would. He is hating it.

I am slowly figuring out the Uconnect thingy. Very slowly. I received a text from my BIL while driving, got the system to read the text, and attempted to reply, but it would only offer the option a sending from a menu of canned replies. Is that really the only option, or do I have a setup issue? I have an Android phone, S9. I thought I'd be able to compose by voice???

Unless the 19's are different, you need to have an active "Uconnect" subscription to reply, the canned replies are all you get without one.....

Is that a Android thing? I can verbally reply with my iPhone over bluetooth... thou I am normally up CarPlay.

Well, I thought you get the full-meal-deal with the new vehicle demo. I've got the Uconnect app on my phone. I guess I'll call customer service, and ask.

I believe that is a setting. Canned messages or you can text a verbal message back. I answer text while driving with voice to text.

Tom,
My salesman spent around an hour with us setting everything up and orienting us. Ask them to do this for you. He paired our phones and went through all settings before leaving. Outstanding sales support.

It really helps with all the technology on these trucks.

Cheers, Ron

Our sale gal on John Elways in Greeley, Co did the same thing for us. SnoKing

My dealer offered when I got my '18, but I declined. I had used CarPlay on numerous rentals, and had a couple thousand miles driving my dad's '17 with nearly the same options.

Either way, it's worth a trip to the selling dealer as they should have at least offered to help out.
