Jan,

If you have a CTD that is newer than 2003 then you cannot use an EB with a 48RE auto transmission until 2006 or 2005 with the upgraded programing. If you have a stick shift, you can add an EB any year. I would add the EB first. It will make a whale of a diff in the way you drive. I had one in my 1997 auto and 2002 6 speed. I dont have one in my 2004 but it has the 48RE transmission and the "Tow/Haul" feature really works well for me. If I ever decide I REALLY need an EB I will put it in and take my chances with the thrust bearing wearing out. I hope that helped.

Frank

I do have a 2005 3500 with a six speed. The salesman at LV Dodge said "most people my age get the automatic". That almost killed the deal. I'll file your number and thanks for the response.

Oops, nevermind about filing your number, Frank. I got you mixed up with someone else. Old age. Maybe I should have bought the automatic.

Stan It's a long story.

Saw a silver dually in the center left turn lane in front of the Outback on Pecos near Flamingo towing a huge box trailer. It was a little before 10am and I flashed my lights at him a couple of times and he had a big smile and shot me the peace sign.

Ann Road and Durango there was a dark blue 2500 ext. cab with an "older" guy (like me) and his wife or girlfriend. Acted like he wanted to race as he took off with much haste kind of like everyone else in Las Vegas. Nice looking truck. I need a wash job so is there a car wash that will take a dually?

Thanks,

Stan

Hey Stan !! I should be around the next few days, have to put a fan clutch in my rig, original took a dump coming up Baker this afternoon. Did I tell you I also have a mobile wash/detail set up also !!?? If I see your truck in the drive I'll come up and knock, don't shoot though!!

Hi SConklin

Good to meet you at the BX last night, although the location in your profile says you are back in IL. Good luck with the truck.

I'm ready to get an exhaust brake for my rig. Where would I buy it and who will install it for a reasonable fee? I was going to get the gauges also but I dont' think gauges are necessary until the truck is out of warranty:) I could install the brake if it didn't involve too much twisting of my back.

Whoa, you ........!

I suppose the exhaust brakes are pretty much the same? I should throw some business Geno's way since he is affiliated with the TDR. I almost have the magical 3750 miles so it will be off to Desert for the servicing. I don't like the "D" word very much anyway. I did wash Moby last week so that explains the light drizzle that spotted-up our windshields. Oh well.

FF1607 you know you aren't spending any money for an exhaust brake, who you kidding? That mega cab is calling your name :-laf :-laf

I was "driving Miss Daisy" just about all day. I'll be home all day tomorrow and will be working on my trailer trying to repair the damage I did trying to repair it. Only sissies need running water, right? That mega cab isn't for me. I have plenty of room in the back seat for two cat carriers and that is plenty. Bring your "hot set up" by but not too early. I don't have many weekends off so this is a rarity.

Truck parts?

Have any of you in the Vegas area bought anything from the truck place that is on Fremont St. just south of the old Showboat and next door to Vegas Trailer Supply? Pacbrake website said this is the place (one of them) in Vegas to buy the Pacbrake. The other is Diesel Dynamics. When I get one I'll have an installation party and all supervisors will be welcome. Pizza, beer, whiskey, you name it. Camping World will install it for between 4 and 5 hundred dollars. I have almost every tool known to man so maybe I could do it. Well, maybe I can.

Geez, maybe I should check the battery in the doorbell/intercom. Sorry that I missed you but my job has really weird hours but in 2 months and 27 days (who's counting?) I'll be home all the time much to the dismay of my wife. Send me your e-mail address and I'll let you know when I'll be home. I'm usually gone about 30 hours and home for 48 hours. Send me your address @ -- email address removed -- and we can exchange phone numbers if you want. I rarely have weekends off so I'm not like a normal person. Thanks for trying. I'm looking forward to buzzing down 95 and making lots of noise:)

Blue 2500 with RV tailgate and 4 point trailer mirrors. . parked on Mayflower by the Mission plant. Saw the TDR stickers up high on the back window. I had the silver dually pulling the 40' GN. Picking up repos down the street.

I'm glad to hear that you are doing that W-O-R-K thing Mark. The weather is just about perfect for sitting outside and lying to each other. Look for the open garage door and stop by for a drink.
I did some research on the web and found "Shockwarehouse.com" and they had Bilstiens about a buck cheaper than Geno's AND the shipping is free. Maybe Moby will give me a smoother ride and my wife will quit complaining about it. I have 17K on the stock shocks so if anyone needs some ballast or just want some more junk then contact me.

Cheap diesel in Clark County? Usually the station on Lake Mead and Boulder Hwy has been the cheapest and I bought it there yesterday for $1. 59. Such a deal. I'm really thinking of mounting that 100 gallon tank in the bed. The station on Lake Mead and Van whatever it is just east of the Fiesta was . 10 cents higher. They are usually the same price. Do any of you know of a cheaper place. I know Henderson is not close to everyone either. Is anyone out there? Hello.....
