I joined the TDR alittle over a year ago and this is my first post. I'd like to thank everyone on this site, I've learned alot from all of you. Anyways, I would like to tell you about a good experience. After reading many hours and making some calls I choose to upgrade my trans. with DTT for my own reasons. I showed up at DTT's shop monday April 12th and Stephan greeted me and introduced me to everyone. Vinny took me out in my truck to test it and then brought it into the shop to start on the trans. Vinny was great to talk to. I hung out at the shop for 1/2 the day but I brought my wife and daughter with me , so I spent the rest of the day with them seeing the sites around Vancouver. Shanti called me to tell me my truck was done and I went over to pick it up. They had me test drive it and WOW! You put it in gear and you can feel the 89% t/c load the engine, when I let off the brake it took off rolling at about 8-10 mph with out touching the throttle. It will even pull up on my slopped driveway without the throttle. The shift points are great, they are positive & firm but not neck snapping, with the RV valve body and they shift at the correct rpm to keep the engine in it's torque curve. I only see about a 100 or so drop in rpm going into lock up and the overdrive shift is very firm also. It's been almost 2 weeks now and I'm very happy with it. I'd like to thank; Bill, Shanti, Stephen, Vinny, Darren, Lalita, & Crystal for making me feel at home and treating me like I was a part of their family.

MVieira,

Glad to hear you like your setup. I also had my transmission upgraded in Bill's shop and must admit they are Top Notch.

Did Vinny install an exhaust brake for you also?

Dave

Big-D, No I didn't have an exhaust brake put on. My 26' 5th wheel is only 7800 GVW and the heaviest thing I tow is my brother in-law's boat which is about 9700 lbs. I've never felt I needed it. Thanks, MV.

Congrats! I also have the DTT trans with the 89% TQ and rv valve body. I had this work done about 2 years ago by Fred Swanson in Phoenix. I couldn't be happier with it. My miles are divided equally between around town empty and pulling a 6500LB boat. I have to tell you the final touch is the DTT smart controller, it brings everything together. I love the TQ lockup when decelerating. I know that I use the brakes much less now. .

DTT & Bill Kondolay are a class act!

MVieira,

I like you also went to Bills shop to have mine done. Bill & Shanti were out of town (Friday) racing but Darrin & Vinnie greated me upon arrival early Friday morning & they were great! (4) hours later my truck was done & Vinnie took me for my test drive. It was just as you described. Lalita, Crystal, Darrin & last but certainly not least Vinnie were all Awesome!

They truly treat you like family... ... Bill even called while I was there to tallk to me & beat up on me a bit since I didn't have the good sense not to wear my BD Shirt in his shop.

I left there with a new truck & of course my complimentary DTT Wolf Pack Shirt & cap.

I would recommend them to anyone looking for a BULLET-PROOF Diesel Auto Transmission.

Clay :D
