OK, I got out the timing light and checked and rechecked, check TDC 2 times and I come up with 17. 5*? I dunno. I didnt even adjust it. Maybe the last time I checked it I got a screwy reading out of my light. But yeah. The DDP4s make the truck start harder when its cold though... .
stupid question... how does a timing light work on a diesel? I've always just gone by plunger lift on the pump. I realize that injector pop pressures effect timing... I've heard of using a timing light on a diesel, but I don't know how it works
if it can actually detect the pulse of the injector, it sounds like that's the most accurate way to check timing due to variances in pop pressure, etc.
