Crack in injector line #5

Intermittent starting issue

I was half awake last night when I opened the package but I’m about 75% sure all the parts needed for both the 5.9 with the vp 44 and the 5.9 with the cp 3 along with the 6.7 with the CP3 pumps are included in the kit. There instructions for all 3 fuel systems in the kit. There is a cool fitting and assembly plate for the 6.7 CP3 pump with the quick connection fuel line the later 4 th gen trucks use. I think the kit is an awesome idea. You get a water in fuel lamp you are going to check your filters. If you don’t find water then you go to the next step an change the filter. Wish I knew about this kit years back. Would have saved a lot of greef

Thank you for that but for some cloudy headed reason on my part, I STILL do not understand if BOTH parts are included in the purchase. I think it is because the ebay seller lists it only as part #68156565AA .

Can anyone please confirm if this purchase contains parts and fittings for BOTH or only one of the MY applications.

Yes for 6.7 and I got lucky!! It seems that you'll have to look for other part # ending in 64 for 5.9 applications...

I will see how lucky I am after some sleep and a venture to a shop that I'm not supposed to be in... I work nights and have tonight off, so I'll give this project a go later on...

I'll update later, but I'm not 100% sure on anything right now... My truck is an '09 with a beta test filter head... This part is for factory, and bolts to the pump itself, so I should be fine with the one I have.

I think they packed the same instruction sheet with both kits....I speculate the "64" kit comes with a longer banjo bolt where the "65" has the banjo bolt / fuel line combo...

The "64" probably doesn't work with the Jake trucks because there won't be clearance for the sending unit under the Jake Vacuum Pump assembly...so I am SOL on this one...

After reading the install instructions Mikey posted I'm confident the kit works for my MY truck. Looks like the only one it doesn't work on is trucks with oem exhaust brakes.

Just received a reply back from the seller and he said "according to Mopar it will work as long as you don't have the engine brake".

Seems like it's a universal kit. I specified my truck and engine. I also looked at the items on their store and couldn't find a kit ending in 64. My concern is it doesn't look like the sensor in the picture will replace the banjo bolt.

PLEASE do update as you figure this out...

FYI--I also cannot find the kit or part #68156564AA listed for the 5.9 CTD 3rd gen trucks which is why I am still wondering if this kit contains BOTH part #'s.

I just did a search for each kit individually and the sensor in the 64 kit is definitely different. The one ending in 64 will replace the banjo bolt where the one in the 65 threads into the supplied adapter. I also found a service bulletin that describes each kit. Looks like the kit ending in 65 is for the 2007 and newer with the 6.7.
I don't know if this particular kit contains both sensors or not, I will question the seller again.

Thanks for putting all this effort into figuring it out!!!
I am sure there is a fairly good chance that even the seller doesn't know...nklol

That said, I keep hoping that BOTH fittings are provided in the kit and that the buyer gets to pick which one to install, though now it sounds like that is probably NOT the case ??

DEFINITELY looking forward to eventually hearing the answer on that after one you guys who bought the kit finally get the time to actually install it on your 3rd gen 5.9CTD ... obviously only ones without the Jacob ex brake)

... TIA!!!

Install went pretty smooth... My only issue is locating my factory WIF sensor plug, so i can hook up the wiring harness!!

Let me try to straighten this out....

The fuel line connections are different between the 5.9 and 6.7 engines....so you are not going to be able to use the "65" kit on a 5.9 without some modification..

Fuel Line for 6.7..That's why the new banjo bolt in the "65" kit has the stub for the quick connect.

This is the sender / banjo bolt combo for the 5.9 contained in the "64" kit...I don't know why there are two pictured.....only pictures I can find of the older sensor.

So if someone can prove that the Banjo Bolt contained in the "65" kit is M12 x 1.50 like the 5.9 then you could either rig up a dead end quick connect to plug onto that tail OR have someone weld it closed....

I cannot prove the "65" fitting is that thread...I am pretty sure it is but I can not prove it...

Edit...scratch that idea, the banjo fitting will not be long enough to go through the existing banjo on the fuel line plus the added thickness of the adapter.....

If the "64" can still be purchased somewhere that's the way to go for a 5.9.

Also for my fellow Jake Equipped truck owners I don't see why the sender could not be placed under the fuel filter canister on that end of the line....if there is room. The fittings and washers are identical on either end of the line..

My truck is in storage so I can't look at it until this weekend...

The instructions for the 5.9 say the sensor theads directly into to cp3 in place of the banjo bolt. It looks like the supplied "manifold" isn't used on the 5.9. That aliexpress is the only other place I've seen that sells the 64 kit, three weeks out.
I was wondering if the sensor would work with a threaded banjo bolt, I won't know until I recieve my kit. What sucks is the description states the 65 works with the 5.9 and it clearly doesn't.
The second reply from the seller yesterday didn't have an answer for any of my questions. The service bulletin on this is 14-005-12, 11/29/2012.
