here in the past few months i've noticed my oil pressure has dropped a little at idle ,still the same at normal operating conditions just a little lower at idle than it has ever been since i've owned the truck which is 4 yrs. at idle it is just the slightest hair below the second of four marks in the operating range. before it always stayed above this mark, any ideas why the drop in pressure?

With summer here in full force in the swamp, I've noticed Mom's idles a little slow sometimes. Has it just started in the hot weather? If not, Might consider a mechanical guage. These trucks are getting on in years, and stuff (sending unit) gets old and quits working. (Some of you have more experience with that than I). Try bumping your idle speed up a bit. My 91 doesnt hardly move, but the one on Mom's 92 will drop a hair below that line you mentioned, and then go to the third line when you get moving again. If it sounds ok, I would keep an eye on it, but not keep myself up nights worrying.

ANy other thoughts?

I would agree. Before you worry to much put in a real guage. I have had a couple of different senders fail and give false readings. Atleast with a real guage you will no what you actual oil psi is.
