Hey Steve, Tell me about your front receiver...

Anyone lose their commercial insurance???

I have a 97 2500 4x4 it doesn't have the camper package. I installed a 2. 5 in rancho lift. I haul a 9ft 11 slide in and pull a 2 horse bumper pull. I would like to install OEM type overloads, I can't find a aftermarket supplier. DC is way to proud of their OEM springs and parts for the spring install. Can anyone help me with this matter. Kurt

I think helwig makes good springs, or you could try JC whitney. I can't personally say I have used them but heard of others that have and they were happy.

I installed Hellwig overload springs.
My hitch weight is listed at 1650#. I haven't checked it. Upon hitching up, the rear of the truck would drop 3". After installing the overload springs the truck drops 1 1/2". I can raise the truck bed by putting more tension on the springs, but that would also stiffen the ride. I am thinking of lifting the bed the 1 1/2 inches to give a level ride when loaded. As it is, the ride is probably a little harder than stock, but not significantly. After all, it is a truck and will never ride like my Mark VIII.

Kurt:
I installed the Roadmaster Active Suspension and took the OEM over-load springs off. The truck has a more positive feel with less hop. The only thing I have noticed is the RAS system has to have a very good shock. It also is adjustable for more or less tension. It may not be for everyone but I have learned to like it.
I think I payed around $250. Good product.
