Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) P-Pump cam sensor

I am in the process of completing a p pump swap on my 98. 5, I was sent a block off pate for the cam sensor do I need the sensor for anything or can I just block it off.

I believe you can block it off. On my 99 it states it is only for diagnostics and does not affect vehicle operation. The crank sensor is another story tho.

Block them all off as you are now manual fuel control

The PCM will still need to know the engine is running to turn on certain functions

Yes leave the CKP hooked up he will still get a mil for the cam pos sensor why did he get a cam pos sen block off plate as the 12v housing does not have a cam pos sen
