Competition Hrvp 44 ?

Off Roading A few observations with larger tires

Ok i have been building my truck for a while now and am getting ready to put the motor in it. My question is what can i do to the drive train to make it hold up? I have a dana 80 in the rear, its a standard cab long bed so the drive shaft is one peice. But i dont think it will hold very long, so what can i do to make it better? Also the truck has a 6 inch lift on it, is that going to be a big no no or is it going to be acceptable? I am buildiong it to do fairs and stuff like that but would like to get competative in the sanctioned stuff also. What do you guys recomend me to do from here? Thanks.

i would think the lift would be bad. the taller springs have a tendency to axel wrap and hop more then stock. it would work though i imagine you will break something sooner.

to pull with a lift you should make the front control arms long--I think mine are 48" for the top and 55" long on the bottom and rear ladder bars as long as you can and add some rear suspension blocks---all bars should be out of

1 3/4" DOM tubing with . 25 wall thickness and 2" DOM may be better for the ladder bars... . but all my stuff is 1 3/4" x . 25 though----chris

Pulling With A Lower Center Of Gravity Is Much Better , Dana 80 's Are Strong , I Always Ran Rockwell Rears And Fronts After I Busted My First Dana 70 , Just My Thoughts.
