I am hoping some one can offer me some assistance. I have replaced almost everything under my front end and am looking to finally tighten up the steering. I went down to Baxter's and bought a Rancho steering stabilizer for about $39. 99 I was excited to tackle my replacement project until I discovered a problem. I have TWO factory stabilizer bars! The guy at Baxters couldn't for the life of him figure out why. Well, a bit of research on this awesome website revealled that Chrysler's answer to the wandering problem was to add another stabilizer bar. (a second one above and at an angle) Anyway, that's what I understand... ... . Does anyone know about this? Can you confirm? Also, what Rancho model likely fits this other one ABOVE the original?

(I bought the RS5404 one already)

Thanks guys!

Tom,

I have a Rancho dual shock (R5000s) steering stabilizer on my '96. I bought it at Desert Rat Offroad in Albuquerque. It's an off-the-shelf setup from Rancho - brackets and all. They installed it free. It's beefy, works good and looks pretty cool, too. I like it. :) Desert Rat has a good website you could check for phone #, etc. Maybe they can shed more light on it.

yes there was a TSB released to "correct" the problem, DC's wonderful idea was to throw another shock on there. This temporarily solves some of the problem... however the underlying nuisance is still there. The poor design of the front ends of these trucks is ridiculously flawed.
