Convoy >> Cheyenne to PFI in Fort Collins Sept. 25th

New Head of RMTDR

Mike, Shay, Bob, Sticks, whoever:

I do believe I can finally make it up there. I read the thread and don't see any directions to the place. How about an exit number from I-25 and directions from there, would sure appreciate it.

Looking forward to seeing everyone again, its been awhile.

Here is a map on mapquest:

http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.ad...cUiUZsbDCM8OZKYlKRN7YYZ8Lmv0Xa8seshMzOjxa4w==

The address:

5720 Bueno Dr Fort Collins, CO 80525

Directions from I-25:

Take the Harmony Road Exit (no. 265) WEST 4. 4 miles

to College Drive (also known as hwy 287) Turn South on College

approx. 1 mile south is Bueno Drive (no light) Turn left (EAST) on Beuno Drive. The road bends to the south after about 300 yards and PFI is a few buildings down on the left. Just look for the big silver pipe sticking out the door bellowing black smoke.

Hey Barry,

It's nice you can make it. Please call me at home. There is something I need to discuss with you. I'll see you at the Dyno day. It looks as though Tim covered your needs for directions.

Mike L.

Thought I would post a copy of the email I have been sending around to businesses asking for donations for the big day. If any of you know of a business that might want to donate an item (directly diesel related or not - doesn't matter), please get in contact with them and then let me or MikeL know what they say. I have also made up fliers and if you would like one of mine, drop me an email at -- email address removed -- and I will send one back to you. You should be able to open it as long as you have Word. If not, please feel free to make your own to distribute (although mine has a cool picture of LaserBob's truck on it :D )

Thanks everyone,

Shay

The Colorado Power Stroke Club, The Rocky Mountain Diesel Registry (Cummins) and The Rocky Mountain Diesel Place Power Club (Duramax) is having a Charity Dyno Day at PFI in Ft. Collins, Colorado on September 25th, 2004. All the proceeds will go to Hospice of Larimer County.

We are looking for businesses to donate items, as well as send their business cards and/or fliers/information to us for the big day. If you have anything; truck parts, T-shirts, hats, cup holders, gift certificates, just anything at all that you can send to us, we will be having a prize drawing and would definitely appreciate it.

We expect a large crowd of diesel truck owners (all three brands) and would like to have information on your business to hand out, as you have been an important part of The Colorado Power Stroke Club and we appreciate you.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me anytime via email or telephone. Anything you can donate can be shipped directly to me at the address listed below or brought to the event that morning.

Sincerely,

Shay Black

Tadd at Rocky Mountain Diesel Performance in Alamosa is donating the following:

1. A couple of T-shirts

2. Custom Microtuner Programmer (Fits any 94-03 7. 3L they get a choice of 3 programs. Or I can make something custom. Not the same programming as Superchips, my own. )

3. 2 Gift certificates for $375 off of retail on any BD Exhaust brake Ford, Chevy, or Dodge. Does not include Ford Warm-up valve style brake.

4. 1 Ford Turbo-master Wastegate controller $89. 00 value.

Thanks Tadd! Another awesome small business owner!

Shay

Okay for lunch that day we will have a cart vendor there. Wendy's cannot make it due to the fact that their trailer will be at the CSU game. Aren't we more important than CSU???

Anyway, the vendor will have for sale:

Philly Cheese steak sandwiches

Brats

Hot dogs

Nachos

other chips

sodas

Also, there is a rumor that there will be a bikini car wash that day too. Now, this is not for sure and I don't have a time, but all the proceeds will go to Hospice if it happens.

There will be approximately 10 vendors there that Lance has set up (my vendor guys, bring your banners and/or business cards or displays - and let me know what you plan on bringing, so we plan on enough space - don't forget). I will be heading up to PFI next Thursday afternoon to meet with Lance, so we can figure out where to put everyone. He said he thinks he's got all the parking set up and cleared with his neighbors.

The Hooters girls (3 of them) will be there either from 11am to 2pm or noon to 3pm and they will be bringing some wings (not sure how many).

To be continued... ... ...

Shay

Not going to make it boys and girls. A good friend is having a barbeque at his house and I said I would go. He is the one helping me buy a new motorcycle so I better go see him. He does drive a 12 valve though!

kisses & hankys

Was thinking maybe the hooters gals could give hankys to the ford & gm guys who make a haze of smoke on the dyno, and give kisses to the dodge guys who make a cloud of black coal?

While I will admit that my X doesn't smoke very much, you obviously have not seen my husband, Alan's, truck run. With his big turbo, it actually sounds more like a Cummins than a PSD (listen to it on the 25th, it is weird). I know this is just one PSD out of a big group, but we do have a few other smokers as well.

Now I admit, it doesn't smoke quite as much as Bob's truck (what does? A freight train? :-laf ), but it still runs pretty good both on the dyno and on the track. He was keeping up and beating quite a few of the Dodges and Chevys out there. And yes, this is our everyday driving, pulling our camper truck. Not a dedicated race truck (we only have one of those in my dreams :D ).

But, remember, this is not a brand war dyno day. It is a team dyno day. So, if you want a trophy, you will be cheering on both a Ford and a Chevy. Also remember, we are all working together in the goal of raising money for our charity. :)

(I am kinda happy though, that my X does smoke more than all the brand new diesels out there, all three brands included. :-laf Now if I can just get my dyno numbers up and my 1/4 mile numbers down in that 8,000 pound brick I drive around in. )

oooooooops

Ok, I was just poking fun a bit, not trying to ruffle any feathers. Going back to my usual chair in the corner now.

Children, now behave... :D

Now brand bashing from the RMTDR, just friendly poking.

Besides, most of us have learned that if a PSD smokes, it is usually wound up pretty tight, and one should think twice before playing with it.

Well, I got the official word today, I will get the day off, so I will be there, and be there early. I am thinking of around 7ish to help set up. I am meeting one guy from rollinsville on the way, so I was thinking of maybe the Denver contingent meet at Johnsons corner at 6ish for breakfast. Any takers?

Sticks,

I am heading up on Friday with the camper to stay a few days in the Ft. Collins area. I'll already be up there otherwise I'd meet up with you.

Mike L.

Tim, I'll check with Shay, but I know it is going to be one busy day on the Dyno. I'll bet we do 50 to 60 trucks and we'll need all the help we can get to keep trucks moving across the dyno. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Mike L.

TPC,

I don't really have a head count, as it seems like most of the trucks "just show up" on that day, so it is hard to keep track of them beforehand. But, if I was a bettin' gal, I'd say that Mike is right about the approximate number. I think it will be the biggest dyno day ever (or at least I hope).

JAmos,

Just poking back at ya. Don't worry, I can definitely take the heat (been there, done that, got the bruises to prove it :-laf ).

You Cummins are whipping us PSDs on the dyno, but we are catching up on the track. You gotta give me just a little bit of braggin' rights. :rolleyes: Bummer for me that I have to brag on my husband's truck and not mine. :{

It's all in good fun, at least I'm having fun. Hope I didn't quiet you down any by my remarks. Remember, I've never been "politically correct", don't intend to start now. :D Don't you guys either. Don't be girlie men. :--)

Shay

Ouch Girlie Men... Them be fightin words. :-{} :D :D

Anyway, sticks if I can get up that early I'll swing in for breakfast, I've met you breifly at a dyno day before but I didn't have my truck then so you probably don't remember me. I wanted to be there as early as possible anyway, to help out and get my truck done and out of the way so I can enjoy the festivities.

Is this dyno big enough to fit a dually or will I be stripping off my outside tires? Just curious.

Shay your pretty cool in my book for spending so much time setting this up even if you do drive a ferd.

Just over a week! Its getting close!

Steve,

Just another plus for PFI, you dually guys don't have to jack around with taking off your tires. So much easier on everyone!

Thanks for the "atta girl", but lots of the other guys have worked and will be working on this event too, so thanks go out to everyone. Lance at PFI is really working hard on it too. I do really enjoy doing it, so don't think that it is hard for me or anything. My husband would probably appreciate it if I spent a little less time on this stuff and more time on the house, however. But, that's another story.

Thanks to Gov. Arnold for giving me a great saying to raz people with. :-laf

At least I can still hang with you guys since nobody else is putting a turbo diesel engine in an SUV. That way, you can't blame me for driving a Ferd. It's the only choice out there for a big running over people type SUV that spits out diesel smoke.

Actually, I haven't met anyone from the Cummins group that I didn't like. All you guys are great and lots of fun to raz and hang out with. I've never felt offended or belittled or anything bad from you guys (or the Dmax guys either for that matter). We all run diesel, right??

Another donation:

Brent at Pro Street Performance is donating:

1. A $50 gift certificate

2. SuperChips programmer, any style. For either PSD, Cummins or Dmax.

Thanks Brent!!

Well, gee Shay, if you didn't insist on driving an overgrown soccer-mom, urban assualt vehicle, you might be a bit quicker in the 1/4 :D Just cause you can drive 8 - 10 people around in comfort... .

ANYBODY - if you have a high quality digital camera, Shay and I are going to need some pictures of just about everything and anything during the day.
