Big 4 transmission Rebuilt Kits.

ISSPRO Boost Gauge Restrictor??

I changed my transmission fluid (5600).

Royal Purple's synchromax is in place of the MTL. Shifting seems QUITE a bit better than the MTL. Maybe it's not fair to compare 25K mile fluid to new, but the RP is much smoother. I really like Redline stuff, so this is sort of hard to admit.

Spec-wise, RP synchomax is not as close to stock spec as MTL is. It's thinner by a difference of ~7 to ~10 Cst.

Since I wanted to give it a little more viscosity to bring it closer to spec, I made the last quart a quart of RP 20w-50 ENGINE OIL. In reality, I only got about half that quart in before the transmission was full. So it's probably still below spec a bit.

Remember, 5 qts at 10Cst would substituted with 4qts of 7 Cst means that the last qt has to be almost 22Cst to make the viscosity the same-- not gonna happen even with a 20w-50.

By hook or by crook, this is the smoothest shifting I've EVER had from my 6-speed-- especially once it's up to speed.

I'm a RP believer.

I read where one guy used Mobil 1, 5-30 for 300,000 miles with 100,000 mile fluid change outs in his NV5600 and it's still running like new, so he says. Thought about doing that myself but didn't want the warranty hassle if anything should go wrong.

I just changed my mtf-amsoil in my 5600 with the clutch and it didn't make a diffrence. Might try the lubetech additive and if that don't do it try the RP.

By the way justin you will be suprized when you look at your stock clutch parts at how new they "look" my stock clutch disk had more material on it that the FE that whent in but there where blue spots on the flywheel and pressure plate- other than that every thing looked good on the flywheel you could still see the original lathe marks no diffence bettween where the disk ran and outside the ring sept the blue "hot spots"

Clutch is being deferred. The closest guys to me who would do the clutch right are Garmon's in McDonough GA! That's 5-6 hrs from me:( (here in Tampa)

I'm going to have to baby it until summer's here and I can get it fixed right.

I've had RP in mine for about 35k and love it. It still shifts great. I poked my finger in there during my last oil change the level was still good and the oil, well it was still purple!

Thats because the stock fluid spec is for a 5w-30 motor oil. The stock fluid and the Pennsoil are rebadged synthetic 5w30 motoroils. This is why the Redline MTL is NOT a good alternative. It is a GL4 75w-90 gear oil. Little different.

Redline MTL has served me well for nearly 100,000 miles. No other fluid has shifted as well for me. MTL is NOT a GL-4, 75W-90 gear oil. Redline MT-90 fills the 75W-90 range for transmissions requiring an oil of this viscosity. MTL is listed as a 70W-80 lube on the gear oil viscosity scale. It is listed as a 5W-30 on the engine oil scale(75W-90 lubes equate very closely to a 15W-40 on the engine oil scale). Redline MTL works very well in the NV-5600. It has excellent synchro compatibility and does not shear down in viscosity when exposed to meshing gears like engine oil does.

Yep, RP Syncrhomax for over 100,000 miles and still shifts like butter. BTW, this reman transmission has 241,000 on it as the original was replaced by the previous owner.

My clutch change whent well cosidering the cheap 19. 95 dollar harbour freight adapter plate I used on my floor jack whent right in and I started a few bolts and wiggled it home. Grow some cahunas and do it yourself! ! !
