Does anyone know what the sensor is that is mounted to the bottom of the battery holder on the drivers side battery. I pulled my battery out to replace head light bulb and found it.

Thats right: Battery Temperature Sensor. The PCM will vary the charge rate depending upon the battery temperature. Although there are (obviously) two batteries, there is only one of these sensors - under the driver's side battery.

Some folks make the mistake of using the bottom spacer that comes with some aftermarket batteries to make them taller so the hold down bolts don't bottom out.

No problem till it gets real cold then since the battery isn't making direct contact the sensor tells the PCM that the battery is frozen, no charge.

Better to cut the bolts shorter than use a spacer.
