i'm going nuts... us '06 guys have to wait till october

but im sure it will be worth it and I for one cant wait for halloween... .

Just look at it this way, Maybe the 03-05. 5 guys will give even more imput for the smarty so that way when the 06 smarties are ready it will be that much better!

Im sorry Im confused,

Does the Smarty CR modify the torque management on software 1 through 9 ?

Or does it delete the torque management?

I read below as modify on 1-9 and no delete. Probably a good thing cuz deleting it would allow you to shred the transmission or twist a driveline.
all other softwares have a modified "Torque management" ( TQM ). The throttle response is greatly improved but is set to a save limit. With "Save" I mean save for your transmission and rest of the driveline.

So if the smarty modifies the torque management, throttle response with a TST on 2/2 and a smarty on the 60 hp setting should be very noticeable.

what about those with an aftermarket transmission? wouldn't they want the TQM deleated?

everyone should reread marco's post. slowly :)

1) The horsepower settings. Just like the VP Smarty does, except #0, all other softwares have a modified "Torque management" ( TQM ). The throttle response is greatly improved but is set to a save limit. With "Save" I mean save for your transmission and rest of the driveline. ( Please, make sure you understand the difference between a " disabled TQM " and a modified one! ( Disabled ) )

my words level 8 & 9 will have the most aggressive TQM can you say feel the launch :-laf

When Marco took me on my first cr spin after the dyno testing , I hate to admit that I grabbed the holy **** handle :-laf

That was awesome

yep  even 30 hp is very nice

All I have to say is that this thing ROCKS!!

John

Any dynos to share with your modded CP3 and injectors? With the modded CP3 and Smarty that should be an absolute tire melter with near vertical torque rise!

I have been looking at the diablo sport. very simular at 1/2 the price. what am I not seeing? thanks

tons of variability, better updates, non-traceable, etc etc

hope this helps, my Smarty is coming soon!

Marco is a much better listener. He will be better in tune with what we want and able to offer updates much quicker. Other than that, I would imagine no real difference that can justify the higher price for most. I can’t wait to do a review and see how it stacks up against the other programmers.

From what i hear customer service with Marco is awesome

2 quick questions... 1. Is there no "fuel saver" level as on the 2nd gen unit? (yeah, I know I probably wouldn't want to use it a whole lot, but I have to justify the cost to myself somehow!) :) 2. Levels 8 and 9 being just for the 04. 5 and up... do they flat out not work on an 03/04 or they offer the same benefit on the 03/04 as levels 6/7 or was it determined that it is not a safe upgrade level to the engine due to egt levels etc. on a stock engine.

EDIT:

Whoops... my bad, I reread Marco's post and mostly answered question #2... question one I'm still curious about.

"I've almost forgot to mention... SW's # 8 & #9 for the 03-04 trucks are similar to #7 and # 8 but have more fuel down low and even less TQM. Can you say SMOKE?" - Marco

I have a friend running some fuel economy number and should have the results on Friday afternoon.

He is towing a fairly decent load (cab over camper and enclosed trailer full of quads) and he is running on direction in 60 hp and return trip in 30 hp mode.

His average fuel economy towing is a constant 11. 2 mpg.

Will post on Friday for sure

Customer Service?

Well, you can call it that way if you want to but I see it from a different perspective.

See, I use my truck as a daily driver just like everybody else on the here. That makes Marco the first Smarty customer. You know, I'm kinda picky and jealous about my truck. Whatever addition to my truck HAS to work as it is supposed to or I'm not happy with it. I think it's the same for you, isn't it?

If I pretend a great product from others, my own product has to be a great one too. Don't you think so?

Whatever suggestion to make my product better is and will always be WELCOME!

I think the VP Smarty has become a really fine working toy with the help of you all. I feel with the CR one it'll be the same!

The fuel saver.

With the VP Smarty there has been quiet some testing done.

The result is, the fuel saver mode based mainly upon timing provided about the same savings as the CaTCHER ones. The fuel savings with the CaTCHER come from a different concept than the timing alone, yet yield the same result .

Here we go with the "30Hp" file on the SmartyCR , call it a fuel saver if you want to... :D
