Speaking of Chris, have you heard from him? I haven't for a while. I'm hoping to convoy across Illinois with him.

I feel like a big goof that lives under a rock, what is the movie Blazing Saddles about? Or is it something not to talk about on the TDR?

Michael

Blazing Saddles..... don't go there... . it's evil. Can I get a "Harumph"?

Chris said he will be there last I spoke with him. He has new side mount mirrors for me.

Fri night arrival is ok- We'll plan on eating in town that night. As is camping- just had a nice campfire last night.

We like to be to church at about 10 am on Sunday morning, then have a 89th Birthday party afterwards. So it'd be nice if you could get going by then. If not we can work something out.

Michelle

Ouch

:( I knew this time would come and I wouldn't be able to go :( Financially I'm so strapped that I can't even afford to take the weekend off, let alone spend the $$ on food and fuel and beer on top of it. It was absolutely fantastic last year, breaks my heart :(

Carl G

Hi Carl long time no hear from. I wish you could make it. But I know how it is. We will miss you.

Me and Jeremy have been out of town for a few days.

Friday night camping is ok like Bils said.

I'll see ya'll soon

Yea baby, only 5 more workin' days and were off to the farm. Oo.

Hey Michael, let me know where you would like to meet up in Illinois and we'll go from there. What time will you be headin' out? I should be departing about 4 pm. I was also wondering if Daniel would like to convoy? When are you leaving Daniel?

Bill, anxious to see that pump, if you find someone with a bed you want, I'll be more than happy to haul it on my flatbed for ya.

Oh, and yes Greenleaf, I've got those mirrors for ya.

Lastly, thank you Philip, Jermey and Michelle for planning this second-go-round. :D

I almost forgot.....

Has anyone heard any weather reports yet??

Am I going to have to bring my winter coat this year????

For those that didn't attend last year, there was frost on the ground in the mornings.

The weather report looks good for Sat. Partly cloudy around 70 degrees listed for the high. Sounds like a nice day.

Our zip is 46970 if you want to plug it into weather.com and hit the 10 day forcast.

Thats a lot better than the 11 hours of rain I drove threw yesterday. :(

Chris

I'd like to be leaving at 4 pm, but with my work schedule, and it being harvest, I won't know until I am home when I will be leaving.

I will be taking 34 to 74, and I think somewhere around Bloomington Il going east on another road. I gotta look again. Is 74 the route you will be taking in Illinios?

Michael

Michael-

My job is based out of Bloomington, IL you'll be about 3. 5 hrs from our house from there. Let me know if you need ideas on routes to take.

Michelle

Michael, you are way north of me and Chris. You should be running I-74 to Peoria, IL area picking up US-24 and taking that allll the way to Peru,IN. Looks like a straight shot for you. Dropping all the way down on I-74 to Indy then north up us-31 seems like a ton of miles out of the way. Chris, Daniel and myself will be taking I-70 to Indy, then up us-31. See what Michelle and Jeremy suggest on route, as it may take longer across us-24 then another longer, but quicker route.

Bout time we see the dieselman359 :-laf . Last year they couldn't believe I slept in a tent, was the only one btw, well Chris slept in his truck :-laf . I came prepared though, had wool blankets and sleeping bag, I was plenty toasty  . The dew on my tent when I got up was frozen  , guess thats called frost :-laf .

I did not realize how much south Chris was. I was looking forward to a first gen convoy. :( I pulled up the directions on mapquest a few weeks ago, and was just going to ride 34 over to Galesburg, and 74 down to Bloomington Il, it takes me about 3 hrs or so to get there if I don't stop at my grandparents house. Then I think 24 is the route that mapquest said to use. Thanks for any advice on the trip from Bloomington, Michelle. Glad to see you're checking up on us. Apperently Jeremy must be too busy to come see us very often. Is the hay going to be made by the time we get there, or is it too dry for hay? Should I bring some with me? According to map quest its about a 7 hr drive to Peru, so it should take me 5. 5 or 6 hrs to make the trip. :D

I plan on sleeping in a tent too, I will bring an air matress to sleep on and a bunch of blankets too. I guess if all else fails, I'll build a campfire in my tent. :-laf My wife just said I could take an electric blanket, :-laf, how much extension cord do I need?? :D

Tonite I went and got 5100# of pea gravel in the bed of the 93. Came across the scales loaded at 11,880#. ;) Hopefully the better half will have it unloaded by the time I get home tomorrow night. I really need to clean up and service the old girl before a fun trip across Illinios, the truck that is .

Michael

Michael

Me and Jeremy has made two trips to Oklahoma the last two weekends. Its a long story. We'll tell you this weekend about our adventures. :-laf :-laf

Hey Bill, that pic makes me want to go into a time machine... ya figgur you could send me a full size of that pic (through the computer, not a real picture lol) Take a walk down memory lane hehe. Hey Philip, do I ever wish I could go see you guys again :( Hopefully next year we can git it.

Carl G

Carl,

You ain't mak'n it this year :{ Really sorry to hear that, brother. It just won't be the same.

It's good to hear that some new faces will be making the journey. Looking forward to meeting the "new guys"

Scott

Michael,

I am done with hay for the year. I do have one more cutting to mow for a large dairy. However, they just called it off until at least Monday. So now I have time to get some junk cleaned up around here. You might have to bring a generator for the e-blanket. The pond is a couple hundred yards from the shop.

Carl,

Sorry to hear you can't make it. I sure know about being stapped for $$$. I just made 2 trips at 1500 miles round trip with the average of 6 vehicles. But I finally have a "new" 1993 W-350 sitting in the drive. The dang fuel pump died on the way home from TX. Anyway, looking forward to next year.

If anyone gets lost, disoriented, or is too much of a man to stop for directions, my cell number is (765) 427-7966. I will have a dial indicator and a fitting to set up pump timing if anyone is interested.

Jeremy

This sure sounds like it's gonna be fun.

Can't wait to meet you guys.

Thinking of heading out on friday as of right now, What time is everybody plannin on getting there. I like to set up my tent in the daylight :)

I would definently be interested in doing timing if it wouldnt be too much trouble. Better milage on the way home sounds real good :-laf

Don't know if i'll be on a computer before friday so I'll see everybody there Oo.

Cade

Well, you guys just make sure you have a good time, you're all awesome people and I can tell you this... . I'll be back

Greenleaf... promise me you won't let anyone help you as much on their KDP as I did;) I appreciate the kind words bro:) Next year man:)

And, you guys take it easy on Bill now ya hear!

Case500-If i come next year can I leave some divets in your yard? Lol Good times man:) You and Philip are great dudes for getting this all to happen and i can't wait to hang out with you guys again.

Philip-I just can't say enough about this guy... one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. Knows our trucks inside and out too :) Someone be good to him and buy him some cigars ;)

Dam, i just hijacked another thread, sorry Philip :D

Peace out homies

Carl G

Well, fuel prices took a big jump in the last two days here. Cheepest I found today was $2. 75, one station went from $2. 82 to $2. 94 in a matter of 3 hrs. I'm still going to come though.

I'm going to grab a few cases of soda, and bring a couple of coolers with ice. Some Mountain Dew, Pepsi, Coke, Root Beer, anything else? Any ideas on the amount of people coming? I will also grab some paper plates, bowls, silverware, unless somebody tells me not too. Is there anything else/differnt I should bring?

For a head count. I am coming solo, hopefully friday night, or maybe real early Saturday morning. Roll Call everybody. This will help me know how much to bring.

Michelle, whats the best route from Bloomington Il, I was thinking coming up 55 and getting off on 24. How's that sound?
